Our Graduate Scheme is designed to give you a positive start to your career in local government. You will be mainly based in the HSCP Planning and Performance Team in Falkirk Community Stadium but as a Hybrid Worker will also work from home.

- Service planning
- Project management
- Research and data analysis.
You will work across the HSCP with services such as home care, residential care, assessment and care management teams, mental health services and Allied Health Professionals.
You will have an HND or above in Social Policy, Communications, Data Analysis, Politics or other recognised relevant subject. We’ll also be looking for you to have an understanding and /or experience of health and social care.
We look for core skills for all our graduate posts which are:
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Organisation skills
- Project management experience
- Report writing experience
- Team working experience
- Computer skills including use of Microsoft 365
- Ability to use your initiative and organise your own workload
This could be gained through volunteering, internships or student honours projects as well as from previous employment.
For our graduate scheme, it’s desirable for you to have graduated in the last 2 years. If you meet any of the additional desirable criteria below your application will be given priority:
- Care Experienced
- Live in Falkirk Council area
- Currently unemployed/employed for less than 16 hours per week
- Not working in the professional area you are applying for
You will sometimes be required to travel to sites or meetings at other premises and in connection with work activities. A full driving licence is desirable (Pool cars are available).
The graduate programme is designed to give you a broad and diverse experience of how Falkirk works, where you can contribute to the delivery of our vision and values.
Your duties and job roles will vary during your programme.
