About The Company

My client, a leading and established manufacturing business based in the Birmingham area, are currently looking to recruit an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join their Instrumentation Department.

Reporting to the E&I Manager, this is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled installation, maintenance and calibration team within a lower tier COMAH facility.

This is a days-based role, working 40 hours a week Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• The full life-cycle management of chemical plant instrumentation projects from conceptualisation, design through to commissioning involving all different types of instrumentation and control systems. E.g. level, flow, temperature, pressure, mass instrumentation, PLC controllers, safety instrumented systems & intrinsic safety etc.
• Manage the modification of plant instrumentation systems via a management of change system
• The ability to manage the modification of plant instrumentation systems via a management of change system.
• Maintain records on all items including modifications, repairs, specifications etc.

Candidate Requirements:

• Hold a recognised Instrumentation Apprenticeship and be educated to HNC Level as a minimum
• Several years' experience managing instrumentation projects within the chemical process or similar regulated industry sector (Pharmaceutical, Petro-Chem, Food or Oil & Gas)
• Previous experience working on a Higher / Lower Tier COMAH site would be extremely desirable
• Experience and strong understanding of the instrumentation aspects pf DSEAR/ATEX compliance
• In depth knowledge / experience of instrumentation documents including, Loop Drawings, I/O Lists, P&ID's Network architecture Diagrams, Bill of Quantities, Equipment Schedules etc.
• Good understanding of control, safety systems and functional safety standards IEC61508 & IEC61511 with the ability to manage proof tests along HSE guidelines
• Good knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance and Continuous Improvement would be highly beneficial

In this role you will be responsible for efficiently planning vehicle loads for both internal and subcontracted transport requirements, as well as supporting the Transport Director to ensure all legal regulations associated with running a transport fleet are adhered to. Other responsibilities will include the monitoring and delivery of health and safety policies and procedures, cost management and KPI adherence in line with operational requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need prior transport planning experience, be able to manage delegated projects to tight timescales, engage with multiple stakeholders and understand data analysis and e-business tools. The company is a UK leading organisation specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the food process industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installations along with planned and preventive maintenance. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Project Manager - Process Pipework and Plant Installations to join the company supporting projects in Birmingham and across the West Midlands from the company's head office in Birmingham.

Duties

As a suitably experienced mechanical project manager, you will be working with a variety of food and beverage clients on live production facilities in Birmingham and across the West Midlands. With responsibility to project manage, through the complete life cycle from tender to completion, process pipework and plant installation works, ranging in value from £10k to £5m. Duties will include managing labour and materials, programming works, preparing tenders, negotiating contracts and working with the senior management team to secure ongoing work for the company. All projects will be within the food and beverage production sector.

About You

Based ideally in the Midlands you will need to live within a commutable distance of B30 2JL.

Demonstrable experience of mechanical project management ideally within the food industry with particular knowledge of coordinating labour and materials, arranging plant and ensuring projects are completed on time within budget and to the client's satisfaction.

A good working knowledge of welding, process pipework, stainless steel fabrication and the associated plant and equipment would be a definite advantage.

The role

What You'll Do:

Map, prospect, pitch and close new partners: this means being “on the streets”, finding and signing the restaurants & stores local customers love!
Communicate (via in-person visits, emails, calls, and social media) with partners to demonstrate Deliveroo technology & the opportunity for their business.
Make yourself known in target cities as the food delivery and restaurant industry expert; building trust and facilitating inbound deal flow.
Oversee the restaurant onboarding process to ensure it is quick, efficient and seamless and support continuous improvement.
Support Account Managers to ensure restaurant partner success within their first three months after/post signing.
Support with ‘on the ground’ marketing initiatives i.e. ‘Painting the Town Teal’ and Customer Door Drops.

Required Skills

Confident and charismatic individual who can “sell with style”.
Experienced negotiator, able to structure win-win deals for both restaurant partners and Deliveroo.
Strong commercial skill set.
Able to demonstrate product and industry knowledge to clients.
Take ownership and work autonomously to deliver stretch targets.
Passionate interest in all things food.
Be tenacious and highly self-motivated.
Full UK driving licence and own a car.
You will be field based 4-5 days per week.
Preferable - Fluent in at least one other language: (eg: Korean, Thai, Arabic, Vietnamese, Malay, Japanese, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi etc)

Birmingham City University is recruiting for 2 x IT Project Manager on a Permanent basis to join our IT Project Management Office

The main purpose of these roles is to manage the delivery of IT projects in support of our Software Portfolio which delivers our Technology and Digital Improvement Strategies

• You will creating and co-ordinating plans that involve Software suppliers, Technical Architects and IT Operational Technical teams
• You will work with senior stakeholders to define and maintain project plans, engaging with and influencing to ensure the project will deliver agreed business objectives on time, within cost and to defined quality levels
• You will also work with other project leads and team managers across IT Services and the wider University to ensure that the projects deliver in line with ongoing strategic developments and standards
• Knowledge and experience of managing and delivering Software projects is essential to be able to provide subject matter expert network knowledge on risks and dependencies, as well as be experienced in managing challenges around customer requirements and timescales versus capacity both technically and operationally

Essential role requirements:

• Plan, schedule, monitor and report on project activities to ensure that each part contributes to the overall achievement of the projects
• Identify issues with project delivery, cost, risk, inter-dependencies, impact on current business activities and the benefits to be realised and ensure that these are managed appropriately and reported effectively
• Produce clear, timely and accurate project documentation - Business cases, PID's, Plans, RAID logs and reports
• In managing the project, you will work closely with relevant team leads and suppliers to initiate required works, monitor delivery and recommend corrective action where appropriate and reporting on overall project status
• Be proactive in strategic engagement with technical teams, building strong working relationships and understanding of their technical areas
• Demonstrative experience in gathering Epics, User stories, and supporting the Business Analysis function on gathering clear sets of requirements is essential
• Ability to stage plan well, defining clear and measurable milestones is needed
• Strong financial budgeting, forecasting and management is required
• Maintain an accurate RAID log, and proactive review and execution of mitigations is imperative
• Excellent workshop hosting, board preparation and delivery is required - including setting agendas with clear outcomes, and presenting quality
• Work with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to understand and agree what will meet their needs and to ensure that appropriate expectations are defined
• Demonstrate a successful track record of managing projects in a complex working environment especially in the areas of software, applications and integrations
• Excellent stakeholder expectations management, communication, project documentation skills required, along with strong project management knowledge and experience
• This role requires a self-starter, who is extremely organised, proactive, has strong attention to detail and has a minimum of 5 years experience in IT project management
