Place subcontract & material orders to satisfy the requirements of our contracts to satisfy technical, programme, cost and quality compliances.

Monitoring of site labour and keeping a record of site activities, numbers of operatives / sub-contractors on site and cost checks against the tender estimates

Job Summary:

This client is a water sector solution provider that operates across many regions in the UK. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Delivery team, to report into the Senior Project Manager. The successful Project Manager will manage the design, construction, commissioning, and completion of contracts, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget, while upholding health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote exceptional safety standards and quality delivery across direct and subcontracted workforces.
• Ensure the implementation of the Business Management System (BMS) throughout the project lifecycle, from tender handover to final completion.

The Project Manager will require:

Essential:

• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally in the water industry.
• Degree or equivalent in construction, commercial, or engineering-related disciplines.
• Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders.
• Delivery-driven mindset with the ability to lead and motivate teams to meet time, cost, and quality targets.
• Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
• Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE.
• Ability to present at governance reviews.
• Risk and opportunity management experience.
• Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety regulations.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel between office and project sites as required.

Desirable:

• Experience working on water and wastewater treatment plants.
• Chartered status with a relevant professional institution.
• NEC Project Manager Accreditation.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

- Conduct supervisions and welfare meetings and attend disciplinary meetings with the Manager/HR as and when required as per company policy.
- Provide consistent leadership, ensuring staff feel respected, listened to, and supported.
- Work with the Manager to implement performance plans where particular staff require the extra support. Assess skill gaps and work with HR to implement training and mentoring where needed.
- Support the Manager to conduct probationary reviews and appraisals.

- Take part in scheduling shifts and working on the rota to ensure that the home is staffed appropriately and adequately. Ensuring on call and managerial presence at all appropriate times.

- Work with your staff team to ensure positive outcomes, reducing incidents and providing a safe environment for young people, visitors, and staff.
- Report and whistle blow any work situation that is deemed by the management of health and safety act 1999, to cause imminent danger and shortcomings of the employer’s protection arrangements.
- To monitor and maintain standards against agreed criteria and objectives and to implement quality assurance systems, which reflect agreed good practice.
