About the Role:

This is a key role within the Convatec Technology & Innovation (T&I) team, a group that spends $100M+ annually to discover, design, build, and launch the products that will enable the company’s future success. As the R&D Portfolio Strategy Manager, you will play a key role in helping to set the strategic direction for the Convatec innovation and new product development portfolio. You will be a trusted partner across the T&I organization to help Convatec understand where to place strategic bets on new products to drive sustainable business results.

This role will report to the Director of R&D Portfolio Strategy and will work very closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Set the direction for the Convatec T&I Portfolio

• Work with the Director of R&D Portfolio Strategy, CTO, and T&I Leadership Team to help set the investment priorities for the development of new products
• Suport the strategy development and prioritization of the entire Convatec portfolio of R&D, medical/clinical, and regulatory work through the development and use of various tools and KPIs
• Conduct analyses that will help the T&I team understand the value of the Convatec innovation portfolio and make key prioritization decisions
• Evaluate project investment scenarios, identify issues, develop hypotheses and communicate insights and recommendations to key decision-makers
• Support the Convatec Technology & Innovation (T&I) strategy plan
• Coordinate and drive the innovation portfolio planning process with the help of the Director of R&D Portfolio Strategy as well as a wide range of internal stakeholders
• Conduct research and analyses on a wide variety of internal and external-facing topics and make recommendations to help Convatec focus on the resources on the most valuable activities

Engage the T&I team to advance our strategy

• Work with team members across T&I and other functions to help drive the implementation of strategic initiatives and report out on progress to leadership
• Help R&D project teams develop and review project business cases that will yield optimal return for Convatec. Review business cases with T&I leadership team and executive team to validate project viability and prioritization
• Work with Finance to ensure that our overall portfolio strategy is consistent with available resources and support the creation of investment scenario analyses
• Proactively engage innovation project teams to understand progress and update portfolio planning analytics as needed
• Facilitate discussions between the T&I team and business unit finance business partners to ensure that our innovation portfolio will meet business unit financial ambitions

Engage executive leadership

• Work with T&I leadership to develop report-out materials for periodic review by executive leadership, including CEO, CFO
• Support the production of communication materials for the Board of Directors
• React to executive-level feedback with timely and thoughtful analyses and recommendations

Serve as a leader within Convatec

• Build relationships with the T&I stakeholders in many functions, including R&D, medical/clinical, and regulatory, as well as with other stakeholders across Convatec, including Marketing, Finance, and Corporate Development / Corporate Strategy, to understand the key portfolio needs for Convatec, drivers of success, and risks to our new product development plans
• Help drive principles of analysis-based portfolio planning across the broad Convatec T&I community

About You:

We are looking for a Strategy and Operations Manager to join the Business Operations team within our Customer Success division.

As a Business Manager on the Numeric COO team, you will be working hand-in-hand with our COO and team to support the various functions of the business unit. Position Summary:

The Manager of Business Process Transformation within our Technology Enabled Services (TES) organization will report into our Executive Director of Business Process Transformation. We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional who is excited about finding new ways to help an established and successful department drive further efficiencies and value creation.   The ideal candidate is equally excited about identifying problems/crafting strategies and leading execution of initiatives that drive financial performance.  This role is intended to be a healthy balance of designing strategy and executing key projects. General Capabilities:           The Project Manager (PM) works closely with Facilities management, Facilities Engineering staff, and the customer to execute facilities-related projects including design development, construction, and closeout.  The PM must be able to successfully manage multiple projects at any given time while still maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and project quality.  Working with Facilities management, the PM serves as the focal point for all projects.  The PM must be able to foresee problems on a variety of projects; analyze and organize different options; and then present solutions to the customer.  Successful PM’s will be viewed as a valued resource for Facilities management and will be requested to present issues and project status on a regular basis.  PM’s must understand semiconductor cleanroom design, construction, and project management.

Specific Capabilities: A successful PM will be self-initiated, self-motivated, and capable of organizing multiple tasks at any given time.  The successful PM must be able to work within a highly ambiguous and fast-changing environment while maintaining consistently high levels of quality.

• PM’s must ensure that all customers, both internal and external, are communicated with on a regular basis regarding the status of all ongoing projects.
• PM’s act as the interface to direct customers to the proper authority within the Facilities organization when specific needs are required.  For this reason, it is imperative that the PM’s develop a thorough knowledge of the various roles and responsibilities within the Facilities organization to ensure that the customer is directed to the proper authority the first time.
• PM’s are responsible for managing the capital and expense budgets for individual projects.  The ability to maintain a balance sheet to track these expenditures is essential.  PM’s will be required to submit financial tracking sheets on a weekly basis to ensure that project budgets are maintained.
• PM’s must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft and other PC software applications to include the following: Microsoft (MS) Windows, MS Office; MS Word; MS Excel; MS Project; MS Outlook; MS Teams,  etc.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
