An excellent opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified or recent graduate to contribute to the Council’s high quality planning service provision and to gain good practical experience. The post will involve assisting in the production of the next Local Development Plan, planning guidance, development briefs, land use audits and other planning policy work as well as maintaining databases, websites, and information systems.
The post will be based within the Place Strategy Team in the Chief Executives Service. We are looking to recruit an appropriately qualified assistant planner who will have knowledge of land use planning policy, including environmental, economic, and social aspects.
You must have a degree in planning or equivalent discipline and have knowledge of planning legislation and the development planning regulations. It is essential that you have experience of producing written work; the ability to analyse and present clear information, with effective organisational, time management, IT, communication, and engagement skills.

A full, current driving licence is desirable.
