We have an exciting new vacancy for a Responsible Business Specialist!
We are looking for someone to join our team on a 2 year fixed term contract initially, ideally to start in Jan 2025.
This role will lead on achieving full compliance with the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) by enhancing our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting capabilities.
This legislation mandates comprehensive reporting on sustainability risks, opportunities, and impacts, requiring a thorough understanding of the regulatory landscape and meticulous data management.
The postholder will consolidate reporting efforts to produce a unified report and improving efficiency and implement robust processes for data collection, analysis, and reporting to meet regulatory requirements. The postholder will also provide support for Group Senior Head of Responsible Business in all Responsible Business activities, as required.
This is a home-based role. What you will do:
• Gap Analysis - identify current deficiencies in our ESG reporting processes and develop strategies to address them in line with CSRD and SDR.
• Support submission of our annual external indices reporting such as EcoVadis and Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)
• Establish new processes and frameworks to ensure comprehensive and accurate data collection and reporting.
• Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary data, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with administrative tasks to support all current reporting requirements.
• Plan and deliver end-to-end Responsible Business projects and initiatives, working independently, but in collaboration with other parties and colleagues, as and when required.
• Develop, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including Capita colleagues and external organisation.
• Ensure queries and requests from people are responded to efficiently, accurately and in accordance with the Capita policies and/or relevant legislation.
• Provide support for Group Senior Head of Responsible Business in all Responsible Business activities, including charity and community.
• Raise awareness of the importance of Responsible Business.
• Promote a culture of responsibility and sustainability within the whole organization.
• Develop expertise and technical understanding of Responsible Business.
What we are looking for:
• Good knowledge and experience in ESG reporting and familiarity with the CSRD and SDR.
• Excellent collaboration and partnering skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to build trust.
• The ability to resolve complex issues and make sound decisions based on experience and judgement.
• Good drafting and briefing skills for senior leaders.
• Good project management skills - managing multi-strand projects.
• Industry-recognised Responsible Business/Sustainability qualification, such as IEMA Membership desirable but not essential.
