DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY FUNCTION
The primary function of the Business Analyst is a business partnering role to the business units, operations in Singapore and operational entities in the region.
This role will bridge the gap between existing status and the enterprise vision and unleash the real potential of each company / country by providing and contributing propositions of business opportunities and solutions. Focus shall be on the supply chain management process which comprises of:
- sales and operations planning
- transportation, import/export logistics, warehousing & distribution, customs process, supply chain solutions, key account management etc
In addition, this role will be involved in key account management for customers which includes developing co-created supply chain solutions with customers to enhance offerings and competitiveness and engage in targeted conversations that steer customers to solutions that address their needs.
Hence, the in-depth understanding of the supply chain and how each business model is being executed and managed, will enable the Business Analyst to contribute and assist the Regional Finance Manager on driving the potential value by introducing forward looking strategies and strengthening of the core operations of the business.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Planning, developing, execution, budget, follow-up:
- Coordinate the entire process to ensure the Business Units and Countries are clear with the strategic targets and align to the direction of the YCH Group;
- Real time monitoring on the targeted plan on monthly, quarterly, annual basis, to ensure none of the KPIs are left behind;
- Identify, together with Business Unit Heads and Country Operations Heads on potential gaps that may result in the un-achievement of goals(s), in order to work on rectification plans to close gaps identified such as in delivery of logistics services and KPIs, etc.
- Prepare scenario analysis to evaluate best course of actions to close the identified gaps.
2. Partner with various functions, both local and regional including stakeholders from Business Units. Operations and Corporate Management to critically analyse performance, drive cost efficiencies and identify areas of risk and opportunities.
3. Participate in cross business projects;
4. Defining business requirements and reporting them back to stakeholders;
5. Identifying and outlining operational/support issues that occur at any point of the supply chain process through investigations conducted, and creating detailed business analysis, propositions of business opportunities and solutions, for the possible adoption and approval by Senior Management;
6. Propose improvements to processes in order to optimize business performance and operation efficiencies. This includes continuous improvement and development to existing processes, practices and guidelines within the Operations and organization.
7. Planning, reviewing and monitoring targeted plans with Supply Chain Operational Subject Matter Experts and Business Units and Country Operation Heads to identify gaps in delivery of logistics services and KPIs and increase supply chain efficiency before making sound business decisions; This include providing timely and relevant information such as variance analysis, margins for storage utilization, transportation buy-sell, handling and value adding services activities;
8. Perform detailed business & financial analysis in operational / business plans model, to put up value propositions of business opportunities and solutions including CAPEX investments / acquisitions as well as to provide support to the critical management decision making process;
9. Participate, evaluate and drive pricing proposal to align the interest of Business Units and Country Operations Heads to ensure right pricing strategies are adopted in order to maximize potential profits of the business;
10. Develop sales performance metrics jointly with countries on prices and cost structure
11. Collaborate with key account to identify new businesses and grow relationships that assist in profitable growth within assigned verticals.
12. Involved in preparation and review of various analysis reports on both operational and non-operational targets and goals and progress, consolidation of monthly reports, budgets and using data to present to stakeholders including Country Operation Heads, Business Units and Corporate Headquarter ;
13. Keep abreast and updated of latest supply chain solutions and trends to value-add into setting of business / operational directions;
14. Performs other jobs related tasks as and when necessary / assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Degree in Accountancy, Business Management or equivalent.
· Solid accounting and planning background with at least 8 years’ experience
· Experience in Oracle and other ERP software, experience in BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI will be a big plus.
· Driven individual with a “Can Do” attitude & results orientated.
· Ability to learn quickly, grasp key business drivers and communicate in a commercially focused manner.
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines and good organization skills.
· Strong team player, able to work with colleagues of diverse background.
· Excellent communication skills, being able to communicate across levels and functions.
· E-Commerce: Best Practice in serving B2B and B2C customers.
· Experience in working with Senior Management decision makers.
· Advanced Excel & Powerpoint skills
