As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in the team's delivery of security and have a firm focus on delivering high levels of customer service.
This role will be working in the Arenas, part of the NEC Group. The Arenas host events over 210 days a year and welcomes 700,000 to 1million visitors to each venue, ranging from world-famous musicians like: Justin Bieber, Take That, The Who, & Championship sporting events like World Darts, World Athletics, Crufts and many more - Everyday is different when working in the arenas.
This is a casual contract and a variety of shifts will be available throughout the week but mainly evenings and weekends when events are taking place. This role would suit applicants who are available on evenings and weekend shifts and comfortable with a casual contract.
We are looking for professional, diligent & customer focused individuals to join our team and help create a memorable experience for every visitor and exhibitor who attend the Arenas.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a first line support to employees and visitors to the site, providing a professional and friendly service
- Investigate and report all allegations of loss, theft, criminal damage and other incidents
- Fire, security and building systems monitoring
- Managing crowd safety and queue management
- Help ensure the safety of all residents, guests and staff at sites throughout your shift
- Monitoring and maintaining the pedestrian flow at key areas inside and outside the arena
- Be aware of and react to emergency situations as detailed in the Incident and Emergency Plans
- Deterring anti-social behaviour, theft and criminal activity
You should meet the following criteria:
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence is essential.
- Experience of working within the security industry/environment is an advantage.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- An enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
- Significant experience in a public facing, customer service role with the ability to deal with challenging situations
- The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent time-keeping to ensure you arrive ready for pre-event briefings, training and shift handovers.
- To be able to commit to weekend and evening work, and is comfortable with a casual contract.
