The Nurse-Family Partnership nurse home visitor (NHV) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to pregnant individuals and their families who are categorically eligible for the Nurse-Family Partnership Program. Job Summary

Clark County Public Works is looking for motivated professionals to lead multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate the successful delivery of a wide array of projects that improve the safety and quality of life for the good people of Clark County.

This position coordinates multiple project teams of designers, real property professionals, surveyors, traffic engineers, permitting personnel and other essential disciplines to deliver on complex and rewarding capital projects for the county. The position will be responsible for the delivery of capital projects in Public Works, including for Transportation, Parks, Clean Water, Bridges, Pavement Preservation, and the County Railroad.

The position reports to the PM Section Manager and works collaboratively with sections throughout Public Works and other county departments. It will also work closely with state and federal agencies, utility service providers, and businesses in coordinating project activities, along with working directly with the public and neighborhood associations. The position may also be assigned special projects as necessary.

This team currently enjoys a hybrid work arrangement. The candidate selected MUST reside within WA or OR.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in project management, civil engineering or a related field; and five (5) years of responsible project management or closely related experience at the Capital Project Manager II level.  Experience emphasizing construction based transportation projects is highly desirable: or Seven (7) years of responsible project management experience or closely related experience at the Capital Project Manager II level that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the work described above.

AND

Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).  Licensure as a Professional Engineer in Civil or Environmental Engineering will qualify for consideration, while candidates work toward and achieve PMP certification within two (2) years of receiving Capital Project Manager III classification.

Knowledge of: Principles and practices of civil engineering and administration of public works projects; organizational and management practices as applied to the development of projects; recent developments, current literature, and sources of information regarding project management; project estimating; planning, scheduling, monitoring, and problem solving; application and interpretation of County regulatory codes, state regulatory and legislative requirements, court decisions and Attorney Generals opinions concerning the wide variety of engineering functions; departmental policies and procedures, work standards and codes applicable to the job.

Plans, oversees, and coordinates the activities and operations of assigned capital improvements projects. Ensures the timely, accurate, and cost effective completion of projects.

Prepares complex technical engineering and administrative reports and develops critical correspondence and comprehensive reports in support of engineering projects and decisions.

Coordinates with other sections and departments on issues related to capital projects, grant and contract administration, or related.

With input from the divisions of Transportation, Design and Maintenance, makes recommendations on scope of work changes necessary to complete assigned projects.

Directs investigations and develops resolutions of claims and complaints from contractors or property owners.  Maintains office records of design, construction and other engineering activities, as required by County, State, and Federal regulations.

Coordinates with the Survey Section Supervisor/County Surveyor to ensure accurate, complete and quality field survey data is collected and that information is acquired in a cost‑effective, efficient manner. Assists in the preparation of complex property descriptions.

Develops and maintains effective relations with the public.  Represents Public Works on various committees; at neighborhood organization and community meetings; public hearings; before governmental bodies and in legal processes.

Participates in the development, implementation and review of ongoing programs and existing methods ‑ assessing job effectiveness and cost efficiencies.

Participates in the mentoring of other Project Managers.

Participates in the formulation and updating of goals and objectives consistent with the mission of the Department.

Job Overview

The Associate Director, Systems and Strategy Management has in an essential role within the  Law Center’s Office of the Registrar team regarding support of the goals and mission of the Law Center – and as do all staff members, they provide excellent service to our constituents.

They interact with very broad constituencies, including current and prospective students, faculty, alumni, and other visitors; and respond to inquiries concerning Law Center administrative and academic policies and office operations. As well, they responsible for the accuracy of all information conveyed to students in person, via email or over the phone, and in handling their daily duties.

They nurture an in-depth knowledge and command of all policies, and interpret and apply those policies; maintain good judgment in identifying which issues should be brought to the attention of Associate Registrar or the Registrar; and communicate clearly and effectively about technological processes.

The Associate Director completes student system functions and reporting requests, and serves as a backup to the Associate Registrar on university-wide and Banner technology committees; and administer other responsibilities, including general administrative tasks associated with registration, examinations and graduation - three major functions for which duties are shared by the entire office.

They play a role in providing excellent service to our constituents on registration, reporting, system security and maintenance, final exams, and graduation to meet the goals and mission of the Law Center. Other responsibilities include developing, organizing, and executing technological functions of the Office of the Registrar; identifying and implementing of new procedures and technologies to further enhance academic processes; applying technical expertise to data reporting using the Cognos reporting tool and SQL; and implementing and testing improved processes that leverage established and emerging technologies.

Because of the cyclical nature of the Office of the Registrar’s responsibilities, every member of the staff – including the Associate Director - is called upon to work extended hours (including some weekend time) several times each semester (during orientation, registration, add-drop, exams, grading, and commencement). Their positive attitude and willingness to devote as much time as is required to do the job right are essential elements of a successful performance.

Work Interactions
 

Reporting directly to the Associate Registrar of Systems & Strategy Management, the Associate Director receives very general supervision, resolves most questions independently, and accomplishes most tasks without guidance. They use good judgment in presenting concerns to Senior staff and in proposing changes to existing policies and procedures in response to those concerns. These issues and concerns often directly impacts the Law Center’s accreditation and reputation, along with students’ academic success, ability to sit for state Bar exams, and compete for employment.

They work closely with the Systems and Data Analyst, and assist in the training of 15 full-time staff, temporary staff, and all other Law Center members on the use of the Banner Student Information System. As well, they interact with virtually the entire student body - approximately 2600 students – as well as with more than 100 fulltime and 150 adjunct faculty - either in person, over Zoom, or by telephone or email.

The Associate Director works with the Systems and Data Analyst to complete the heavy workload related to reporting, computer exam administration, and all other data-related operations of the office including Data Security, FERPA compliance and training, exams, grades, registration, commencement, and academic honors/awards. Additionally, they interact with the numerous constituencies at the Law Center and on Main Campus, including students, faculty, deans, other administrators, and other technology personnel - both within the University and  outside vendors.

Requirements and Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related Technology/Data Analytics field
• 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a Registrar’s office or similar technology based workplace
• Proficiency with database management, including reporting/analysis, and complex project management experience
• Availability to respond to technical emergencies during peak periods, as needed, outside of normal business hours
• Ability to maintain use of existing technologies and to explore new technologies to support the Office’s many functions

The Police Sergeant, with limited supervision, works independently and with other Patrol Sergeants as a frontline supervisor for subordinate officers and civilians (student guards and contact security guards).

They oversee day-today operations/activities and supervise patrol officers assigned to provide police, safety and physical security services to the Georgetown University Law Center and community in general; and ensure compliance with appropriate written and verbal orders of the Director/designee for all security, police, and safety and traffic matters occurring on and around Law Center property.

They direct and deploy the work activities of subordinate employees assigned and consults with the Director/designee on appropriate personnel decisions; serve as initial Incident Commander on-scene during incidents and emergencies unless relieved by a ranking officer; and send emergency notifications to the University Community during critical events as approved by Director/designee.

The Police Sergeant ensures administrative support processes for the Campus Police Department are accurately completed/maintained (for example, crime logs, activity sheets, daily rosters, time and attendance); and displays knowledge of an extensive array of leadership competencies that are beyond the scope/requirements of subordinate officers - such as conducting investigations of personnel performance, evaluating campus safety programs, analyzing training needs, enacting problem-solving techniques, and applying outstanding judgment to unusual events/incidents.

• U.S. citizenship
• Possession and maintenance of valid driver's license with no violations in the last three years

The director utilizes asset management principles and practices to oversee the city’s facility and transportation infrastructure. The position provides the highest levels of customer service by fostering positive relationships with internal and external customers and city leadership.

The Public Works Department is comprised of approximately 383 full-time employees and an approved FY24 operating budget of $73,053,005. The Public Works Department is responsible for providing a variety of infrastructure services to Aurora residents and visitors. Service programs under the management of Public Works include Engineering, Facilities, Streets, Traffic, Real Property, and Parking and Mobility.

Specific responsibilities of the department include: planning, survey, design, and construction management of capital improvement projects on behalf of the city; maintenance and cleanliness of all public streets, alleys, and municipal parking areas; maintenance and repair of city buildings; design, installation, operation, and maintenance of traffic control signals, devices, and markings; support of all city land property transactions; and to ensure that all roadway and utilities infrastructure projects are constructed to meet or exceed the city standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or directly related field, is required.

• Eight (8) years of progressive experience and responsibility directly related to public works with an organization and community of similar size and/or service level.

• At least five (5) years supervisory/managerial experience in an organization of a similar size and/or service level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree

• Professional Engineer license, and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Job Overview

The Police Sergeant, with limited supervision, works independently and with other Patrol Sergeants as a frontline supervisor for subordinate officers and civilians (student guards and contact security guards).

They oversee day-today operations/activities and supervise patrol officers assigned to provide police, safety and physical security services to the Georgetown University Law Center and community in general; and ensure compliance with appropriate written and verbal orders of the Director/designee for all security, police, and safety and traffic matters occurring on and around Law Center property.

They direct and deploy the work activities of subordinate employees assigned and consults with the Director/designee on appropriate personnel decisions; serve as initial Incident Commander on-scene during incidents and emergencies unless relieved by a ranking officer; and send emergency notifications to the University Community during critical events as approved by Director/designee.

The Police Sergeant ensures administrative support processes for the Campus Police Department are accurately completed/maintained (for example, crime logs, activity sheets, daily rosters, time and attendance); and displays knowledge of an extensive array of leadership competencies that are beyond the scope/requirements of subordinate officers - such as conducting investigations of personnel performance, evaluating campus safety programs, analyzing training needs, enacting problem-solving techniques, and applying outstanding judgment to unusual events/incidents.

They engage in community policing and crime prevention activities and may be assigned special projects/assignments; play a critical role in emergency management and law enforcement operations as errors may lead to the loss of life and loss of property; and support effective public safety toward a positive impact on the reputation of the University.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Director of Campus Police Department/designee, the Police Sergeant delivers a performance that reflects well on the department and the University and Campus Safety; and as a liaison to various constituencies (students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, visitors, neighbors) and external agencies (MPD, DCFD, FBI, USSS), they routinely interact in a professional manner. As well, they routinely interact in a structured/formal or unstructured/emergency setting, including non-routine contacts, contacts as part of a presentation, and contacts with violators/victims; and convey information in a clear, concise, and logical manner.

Work Environment

The Police Sergeant performs routine desk/ office and police duties; spends significant time outside and walks with regular and recurring exposure to moderate discomforts such as noise, high temperatures, and adverse weather conditions. As a responder to incidents, they may experience proximity to danger, including acts of violence, fire, fumes, odors, toxins, and protests with agility/dexterity (stair climbing, running, bending, kneeling, and crawling); use their strength to pursue, apprehend, and detain uncooperative persons; and occasionally lift up as much as 100 pounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
• At least 5 years law enforcement experience related to public safety, security related, law enforcement, military and/or equivalent supervisory experience with knowledge of criminal/civil law and police policies and procedures – including 3 years of supervisory experience
• At least 21 years of age
• U.S. citizenship
• Possession and maintenance of valid driver's license with no violations in the last three years
• Ability to pass Georgetown University driver's certification
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Special Police Officer Commission and any other security related security clearances - and to pass a post-offer background investigation
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in Arrest Control Tactics, Baton, and OC-based Aerosol Subject Restraint and other assigned training subjects
• Successful completion of training that may include the Consortium of Universities Law Enforcement Academy, usually during the probation period or equivalent training and certification from a civilian or military law enforcement academy as required by the Director. [If a candidate has previously graduated from a recognized police academy, the Director may request an academy waiver with documentation.]
• Successful completion of a drug test, and a physical examination by a medical doctor to University specifications, extensive psychological testing, and physical fitness/agility test as required by the Director
• 20/20 vision or corrective lens (including contact lens) to see far and near objects, estimate distance, and distinguish colors
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email and/or the ability to learn these applications
• Ability to employ tact, patience, a courteous demeanor for interactions with students, staff, faculty, visitors, and community members
• Experience in and responsibility for critical incident response and notification procedures
• Experience and/or training in situations involving sexual assault and discrimination (including religious, racial, and sexual orientation), biased based policing, and ethics
• Accountability for rules and responsibilities, for own actions and actions of subordinates, and dependability in meeting commitments, work attendance, and punctuality
• Successful completion of all other departmental training to include: a) Instructor and Lesson Plan Development Training Program or equivalent; and b) Crisis De-Escalation Train-the-Trainer or equivalent Field Training & Evaluation Program or equivalent Basic Instructor Training Program or equivalent First Line Supervisor Training or equivalent

An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of above requirements by the DPS Director.

• Advanced knowledge of policing in a higher education environment and applicable laws/ policies/procedures/reporting
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex functions, establish priorities, and resolve issues
• Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, and implement programs/projects

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of telecommunications equipment, along with administrative and clerical skills
• Excellent grammar, speaking, and writing skills

Essential The Police Sergeant is considered essential under the University Personnel policy guidelines and therefore subject to be on call when necessary. Willingness and availability are required to work extended, odd, or off hours to achieve the expectations of the department - including rotating tours of duty (day shifts, evening shifts, overnight shifts) with fluctuating days off, according to department needs.
