Job Purpose: As the Delivery Support Unit Manager, you will be instrumental in managing and facilitating strategic change across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Change, you will advise senior leaders on transformation decisions, oversee strategic programs, and ensure the delivery of impactful outcomes. You will lead a team of Programme and Project Managers and ensure professional change delivery. Your leadership will be key in defining and implementing an effective delivery framework, allocating resources, managing risks, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Lead with integrity, transparency, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Take ownership of service quality, contributing to the overall success of Wiltshire Police.
Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture.
Build effective relationships with key stakeholders, including Chief Officers and Executives.
Translate customer requirements into actionable insights and complex solutions.
Design and implement key processes to enhance service efficiency.
Strategy Deployment and Transformation:
Identify and drive the program of transformation required to achieve strategic aims.
Collaborate with business leads and partners to design and develop solutions for improved service delivery.
Develop clear Change Delivery Plans, managing inter dependencies and synergies.
Strategic Change Capability:
Provide a Centre of Excellence for delivering change initiatives.
Implement a robust delivery framework aligned with professional standards.
Offer professional leadership in project and programme management, embedding consistent practices across the organisation.
Build and maintain a high-performing team of Programme and Project Managers, developing talent in program and project management.
Managing Change and Improvement Priorities:
Oversee the delivery of strategic change and improvement, including scheduling, resource analysis, and budget monitoring.
Ensure effective governance for change activities.
Drive the implementation of change, managing a collective delivery model with key resources and stakeholders.
Act as the escalation point for major project issues, risks, and changes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree level education or equivalent experience.
Professional training/qualification in Transformation and Change Management.
Experience leading high-performing teams and managing large corporate projects.
Expertise in resource and budget planning, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative working.
Proven track record in delivering professional services and managing external contracts.
Skills:
Strong leadership and innovation skills.
Proficiency in translating strategy into delivery plans.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Ability to manage complex situations and prioritise competing demands.
Competence in Microsoft Desktop Packages and program management systems.
