Our Network and Telephony Team are on the lookout for a dynamic Network Technician. Come and join an ICT Service that is dedicated to empowering people through technology!
As a Network Technician, you will be responsible for all deskside network support activities and the performance of day-to-day maintenance activities for end-user support and networking devices. This includes public facing services provided at leisure centres, libraries, registration services and main council offices.
You will make recommendations to overcome network and security issues, identify areas for Service improvement, and propose solutions to the Network Engineers and the Operations Manager. Additionally, you will provide support and assistance in troubleshooting for customer related incidents and concerns, escalating calls to the Network Engineers and Senior Network Engineers where required.
We are seeking a candidate with a degree level education or equivalent experience. Ideally, you will hold a ITIL v3 qualification or be willing to work towards achieving this. The technical skills required for this role include the ability to diagnose and support issues with various technologies such as access layer switching, WIFI, branch firewall/routers and UPS’s. A significant part of the role involves informing, helping and advising customers clearly. Therefore, out Network Technicians must have excellent communication and listening skills and work effectively with other team members. Since this role involves travel throughout Wiltshire a full driving licence will be required.
