We currently have an opportunity to join or waste division at a Technical Coordinator.
As the successful candidate your role will be to provide essential planning and co-ordination of complex large sewer activity in central London to facilitate significant capital investment projects.
This role will require a large focus on engagement and communication with key stakeholders to ensure all activities are planned effectively and efficiently. As well as being responsible for delivering network infrastructure and process improvements to the sewage network, to ensure KPIs are met.
This role will suit someone who has experience managing small teams, projects, or activities. The role provides a great opportunity for someone to build on existing skills and develop within Thames Water or the opportunity to learn new skills.
The role would suit someone who has experience in planning and managing activities and although water industry experience is preferable, it is not essential, transferable skills have often come from construction, military, utility, engineering, and planning roles.
What you’ll be doing as the Technical Coordinator
- Co-ordinate briefed projects and activities, provide and deliver reports, presentations, and analysis of data as necessary.
- Support the department by liaising or attending meetings with key internal and external stakeholders, as required.
- You will need to develop safe systems of work for complex tasks including confined space activities.
- Responsible for ensuring all aspects of health and safety are managed correctly, by completing authorisations, permits and site inspections.
- The role will have a large focus on being site based on the various construction sites and will require some attendance in the evenings, nights and potential weekends.
- To monitor and report on all aspects of the projects that you are directly accountable for, to include H&S, finance, programme, risk and opportunity.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures and external regulations and best practices.
- Deliver excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
What you should bring to the role
- Experience within maintenance, water or waste, or similar technical environment.
- Experience in technical job design and/or prerequisite management at another water utility.
- Technical experience from an industrial maintenance background.
- Ability to demonstrate logical thinking, attention to detail, workload management, and decision-making, and possess excellent communication skills.
- Health and safety knowledge.
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Competent with IT systems – in particular SAP.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
