The Clinical Systems Support Team Leader will be responsible for the daily operation of the team which provides services such as:


• Second line support for clinical system issues that cannot be resolved by the service desk
• Configuration of all clinical systems, including user set-up
• Support and development of automation routines
• Management of the trust’s Registration Authority (smart card service)



The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the team are completing requests within the service level agreements by monitoring the call management system and allocating work to members of the team.



They will be expected to provide a level of technical, organisational and procedural support to the team members so that continuous improvements can be driven through the existing processes.

The post holder will be required to manage the clinical system support team on a daily basis to ensure their tasks are managed and completed as appropriate.



In addition, the post holder will also be the manager of the Registration Authority (RA) service and will be responsible for all matters concerning the implementation and operational management of the Trust’s Registration Authority.



As manager of the team you will be expected to be able to offer help and assistance to the team members should they require additional support. The role holder will be expected to devise and implement continuous improvement activities in order to enhance the support provided to other areas.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the team are meeting the service and operational level agreements for their tasks. They will be expected to manage the workload across the team and use statistical data to prove that tasks are being completed as necessary.

Here's where you'll make a difference

You'll be working in an Agile Environment and will collaborate closely with fellow Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects and Product Owners to create well written tests for the solutions implemented, alongside updating and creating automation frameworks where required and participating with coaching, mentoring and other leadership activities.

What will I be responsible for?

As a quality engineer working for one of our feature teams, you will be technically literate, experienced in manual and automated testing processes, knowledgeable customer journeys, able to communicate well and have an interest in ensuring quality services are delivered for customers and colleagues. A growth attitude and willingness to get stuck in and learn on the job is important

• You'll look to automate testing where appropriate, updating and streamlining the test automation framework & coding standards deployed within the team

• You'll participate in Communities of Practice, Guilds and improvement working groups and shares learning to members of their team

• You've having hands on experience on API Automation testing

• You're keen to deepen their technical knowledge and understanding

The Opportunity...

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

EPR-E established in 2023, is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.

We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Lead at our site to work on both the Emergency and Ultimate Diesel contracts.

As a Technical Lead, you will provide technical support for the writing of the technical specification, for the surveillance of the Turnkey Contracts documentation and to the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) for the resolution of open-points related to Design, Manufacturing and Qualification of the Diesel Generator contracts.

You will work closely with the relevant disciplines in Edvance UK and Edvance France but also within the client and the suppliers to ensure the technical requirements are met.

What you’ll be doing…


- Assisting the CEL in resolving technical issues related to design and the surveillance of design documentation as specified in the List of Documents Required from the Contractor (LDRC).
- Supporting the client to answer to supplier requests such as request for information (RFI’s), Interface Queries (IQs) or Exemption Request (ERs) with assistance / sign off from CEL as required.
- Managing the interfaces between the Contractors equipment within the scope of supply and interfacing systems, contracts, and buildings.
- Interfacing with the service contractor, the client, and all other stakeholders.
- Assisting the CEL with the management, tracking of design risks, preparation, assessment of early warning and variations.
- Interfacing with the Configuration Engineer for management of the plant design evolution : Contract Transfer Sheets (CTS’s), Design Modifications (UKDCs) and Referential Evolution Requests (RER) preparation as required
- Knowledge management (lessons learnt for future other projects).

What you'll be doing

The junior software engineer will assist with the maintenance and further development of an existing leading-edge suite of web and application tools.The role will also include the extraction and manipulation of data from the software for management information purposes and the presentation of this data in an accessible format using Microsoft resources including Excel and Power BI.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

- Obtaining a thorough technical understanding of the existing systems and the likely future amendments to the system.

- Following existing development practices within the team, e.g. coding standards, use of tools.

- Designing or amending reports to pull information from the legal software suite.

- Design, development, and implementation of management information dashboards in Excel or Power BI as appropriate and amendment of existing dashboards as required.

- Understanding the business requirements, priorities, and goals and how they relate to the software being developed - training and support provided.

- Understanding development requests and ideas and converting them to production applications and tools.

- Working in a methodical, controlled environment with sufficient test programs and documentation.
