Duties

As a suitably qualified electrical technician with control systems installation experience, you will be working within a modern, clean and well-equipped manufacturing facility in Birmingham, B24 0RD. Primary responsibilities will be to install electrical wiring and pneumatic piping to new build automated machinery. Typical duties will include installing control voltage cabling, pneumatic piping, valves, cylinders, sensors and other multi core cabling with the associated supports, labelling and ties all from schematic drawings and pneumatic layouts supplied by the design team. Other duties will include electrical and pneumatic testing, setting, fault finding, commissioning, and rectifying varying controls systems. Upon completion of the build, you will also be required to work on site to install the new machinery.

About You

Based ideally in Birmingham you will need to live within a commutable distance of B24 9QG as no travel or accommodation costs are covered for this role.

Demonstrable experience of wiring and piping automated machinery from schematic drawings along with setting, checking and fault-finding is essential for this role as you will be required to manage your own work.

Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Ideally NVQ, City and Guilds or HNC Qualified in Electrical Engineering. These qualifications aren't essential if you have the experience outlined above.

We are seeking a Network Services Senior Analyst who will be responsible for the adoption and use of information and digital technology. You will be part of a team who is responsible for the effective operation, support and maintenance of existing, operational technology systems, including technology infrastructure (e.g. servers, databases, networks) and end-user devices (e.g. desktop PC's, smartphones, tablets, Airwave terminals). You will also be responsible for the network infrastructure including the provision of Airwave, telephony, local and national network access: all of which are required to deliver and support properly engineered IT services and products essential to meeting the needs of the company. You will also be responsible for providing expert advice across a range of disciplines within the scope of their teams, developing new processes and technology to support the company and continuously improving existing people, processes, and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Airwave infrastructure - including covert and overt end-user Airwave devices, Integrated Communications Control System (ICCS), Airwave fleet mapping, and Airwave coverage.
• Data network infrastructure - including Local Area Networking, Wide Area Networking, and Wireless Networking.
• Voice and video infrastructure - including Voice Over IP (VOIP) and Video Conferencing technology.
• Firewall and gateway infrastructure - providing secure connectivity to the internet and other networks (e.g. CJX, PSN).

Key Deliverables:

• The provision of network services to include the support and maintenance of policy, systems and procedures, performance management, together with the efficient and effective use of resources;
• Provide specialist technical skills and knowledge that facilitate the security, integrity, and availability of Airwave infrastructure, data and voice network infrastructure; video conferencing technology; firewall and gateway technology;
• Provide technical support assistance to projects as required; manage incidents and service requests, control and manage technical resources; provide escalation route for issues, minimise the impact of work undertaken on users and ensure technology is maintained, serviced, and repaired as required;
• Take the lead on relevant incident, configuration, availability, capacity, continuity and release management in line with the ITIL framework;
• Assist with the live implementation of new systems and their consequent maintenance and support, ensuring efficiency, legality and security are maintained;
• Ability to interpret statistical data and advise management of trends;
• Revise or develop procedure and policy for approval and contribute to their successful implementation in order to deliver appropriate benefits and ensure external (e.g. legislative) requirements are met;
• Provide technical expertise as required in one or more of the following areas: Data network technology, Voice network technology and telephony, Airwave ICCS, Firewall technology, Video conferencing technology

Essential Skills and knowledge:

• Cloud Networking Skills (AWS or Azure)
• Telephony Expertise (Avaya or Microsoft Teams Telephony would be perfect, but general telephony is expected)
• Routing/Switching and Firewall Expertise
• ITIL understanding
• Network technology and/or Airwave technology expertise
• National standards and legislation regarding communications knowledge

Must have proven experience and ability to:

• Manage and support a variety of network services technology
• Maintain standards for security of information
• Dealing and responding to complaints
• Delegating work
• Communicated with senior managers from a customer service perspective using written and oral methods

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities of a Mobile Crane Operator

- Work to manufacturer's instructions at all times.

- Adhere to road traffic regulations.

- Ensure PPE is worn at all appropriate times

- Conversant with the correct use of outriggers and aware they should be used on level ground.

- Set and check the functioning of the rated capacity limiter and rated capacity indicator.

- Perform the correct use of manual handling i.e. Outrigger Pans.

- Liaise with Site Manager/Project Manager upon arrival on site.

- Be able to resist pressures from other persons to carry out unsafe operations.

- Able to assimilate and apply information contained in reports and duty charts relating to the range of duties and safe use of the crane.

- Be aware of the effects of wind and other climatic effects on the crane and load.

- Able to take the action to avoid dangerous situations, including stopping operations.

- Operate fire suppressant equipment, if fitted.

- Access and depart the crane by safe use of ladders and grab rails.

- Carry out training on specific models of crane, become familiar with rigging and maintenance procedures and conversant with all crane documentation.

- Continually seek to improve the way in which the role operates within the business to achieve its objectives.

Person Specification

Education/Knowledge/Experience for a Mobile Crane Operator

- Full Drivers Licence

- HGV Class C Licence

Accountabilities

• Follow site pre-acceptance, acceptance, sampling & compatibility procedures according to environmental legislation to technically assess waste enquiries.
• Ensure sufficient information is supplied, including samples where required.
• Ensure all information required for quoting, transport & acceptance is logged on the system.
• Understand site processing capabilities, physical & capability, to enable routing of waste.
• Ensure compliance of all waste quotes with site permits & waste management licences.
• To liaise closely with the Central Customer Services, Sales and Operational functions to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
• Ensure pre-acceptance information is complete and available at time of acceptance, including plant & route.
• Advise on transport, labelling & consignment note requirements.
• To assist with the maintenance and control of the site management systems, to include document control, preparation of data and attending reviews where necessary.
• To be diligent and respect the confidentiality of the information to which they are party.
• Check loads notes and ensure offsite wastes have been priced accordingly. Inform sales of non-conformances and communicate reasons for surcharges or rejections. Pragmatic in providing advice aimed to resolve non-compliances identified.

Requirements

• Minimum BSc in Chemistry or related with Chemistry content.
• Full valid UK driving license.
• Background in laboratory and analytical skills with knowledge of analytical instruments and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and customers.
• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Experience in the waste management industry is highly desirable.
• Experience in sales, business development or account management is desirable.
