Margin Technology is group within Global Banking & Markets Engineering that builds and maintains platforms that enable firm to manage the risk of the trading activities every single to counterparties. We process millions of trades & positions daily to calculate margin, reconcile portfolios, and deliver valuations & reporting to our clients and regulators in the most scalable, performant, reliable and efficient way possible. Our platform manages tens of millions of continually changing datapoints, hundreds of thousands of complex computations, and tens of thousands of user workflows daily. Our platforms are at the front line during geopolitical and market-moving events. Our work protects the firm and its clients and makes the global financial markets safer and more transparent.
This lead role, based in Singapore, will provide a unique opportunity to lead strong set of engineers that build and manage one of the firm’s most complex and fascinating businesses. Learning, teamwork, partnering with stakeholders, product ownership, working with very large data, designs, technical expertise, and user experience; these are all aspects where you will build your skills and make your mark. You will join and work alongside the global leadership group of Margin Technology and responsible for our Asia based teams in Singapore and India.
Our technology stack consists of Java, C#, AngularJS, React, BPMNs, RESTful web services, k8S, Elastic Search, MongoDB, Graph and DB2 databases and Slang/SecDB (GS-proprietary scripting language & risk-management DB). We use Git for Version Control and new development is increasingly cloud-native, either on or off-prem.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

· Participate in the planning, roadmap development, requirement gathering through to evolving platforms to next generation.
· Evolve the platform to meet business, client, regulatory, operational and technical needs.
· Gain technical expertise and practical experience in managing mission-critical platforms from technical experts within and outside the team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
· Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology, software industry with a proven delivery track record (preferable in financial services or risk).
· Hands on experience managing diverse teams (15+ staff), coaching/mentoring and people management including teams in other geographic locations.
· Leadership experience developing plans, roadmaps, partnering with diverse stakeholders, Margin Technology leadership group in EMEA, Americas.
· Experience in design and architecture of various enterprise applications with considerations of performance, scalability, resilience, supportability.
· Strong understanding of Java, C# and related technologies. Experience with relational, NoSQL Databases and SQL.
· Good experience with data modelling and data analytics.
· Solid understanding of financial industry - exchange facing and Over the Counter (OTC) business, Prime brokerage, Future and Options business.
· Experience leading teams based on overlapping geographic locations
· Strong communication and articulation skills as the role requires working with various Asia business/core teams.
· Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment working with a diverse set of colleagues and stakeholders across regions.
