Here at Serco, we are looking for an NDT Operations Manager to lead and manage the NDT Field Team to meet our contractual arrangements and deliver on-site non-destructive testing and metallurgy services in accordance with the applicable requirements and standards.
As NDT Operations Manager you will need to develop and maintain key relationships with all members of the Serco Rail Technical Services Team, our customers, and other members of the Leadership Team.
Your main responsibilities:
- Ensure customers are proactively engaged and key contracts are being managed.
- Lead, develop and co-ordinate the activities and strategic direction of the team.
- Ensure all local procedures are fit for purpose, continually updated, and adhered to.
- Enable invoicing, making sure it is accurate and raised in a timely manner.
- Direct major items of project work to ensure we meet contractual arrangements.
- Forecast and co-ordinate resources to ensure workload is monitored and controlled.
- Implement and maintain QHS&E arrangements applicable to the Engineering team.
- Ensure workplace, facilities, plant, and equipment are inspected and maintained.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Ideally you be Chartered, or working towards chartered status, with proven experience delivering projects in the engineering industry.
- Experience of engineering management and managing staff in a commercial context.
- Experience using the full Microsoft Office suite.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
