Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Office based, 24/7 shift pattern including nights & weekends
Join us as we seek Technical Shift Leaders to become part of our team!
The Technical Shift Leader is responsible for the efficient restoration of supplies during outages on the Low Voltage Distribution network, ensuring safety is the number one priority.
You will manage Low Voltage Distribution network incidents, prioritising response, driving efficient restoration plans whilst providing technical guidance and assistance to field & office staff.
You will focus on safety, leading customer performance, minimising Customer Interruptions and Customer Minutes Lost.
By monitoring network activity and data provided by thousands of substation monitors you will drive a proactive fault management response.
We are looking for someone knowledgeable about the Electricity Network who prioritises excellent customer service.
Other roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- You are responsible for efficient network restoration and providing improvement advice, finding the best ways to handle network faults and other real-time challenges whilst following appropriate escalation routes.
- Triage and prioritise all newly raised incidents, ensuring real time scoping of customers affected to enable accurate reporting.
- You will assist in both proactive and reactive fault response, driving best practise with the installation of automation & monitoring devices, creating effective use of fault data.
- Ensure customers are central in decisions to provide excellent service, performance, and value.
- Make sure all work is done safely, following distribution safety rules, local processes and procedures.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to:
- Have a qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent operational experience. Preferably authorised to work on SSEN's distribution network.
- Have strong technical knowledge of the electrical distribution system, including a detailed understanding of Ofgem regulations, IIS reporting and RIGs.
- Be able to manage priorities using technical knowledge for safety, customer, and cost solutions.
- Be able to explain network impact and good practices to field staff for better performance.
- Have good IT literacy with an ability to multi-task across a variety of systems whilst collecting accurate data quickly.
