Position Summary
The Technical Reinsurance Officer is responsible for coordinating all placement support activities of the account while personally contributing to the creation, review and assessment of data, related activities, and light analysis.
Provides support to the placement team members either onsite and/or remotely on assigned accounts. This role prompts and monitors key activities and tasks throughout the reinsurance placement in order to promote complete and timely compliance with quality and regulatory- driven processes and procedures in accordance with the guidelines.
Liaise with other team members internally to facilitate efficient and effective pre-placement, placement and post-placement activities and services to Brokers and Clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, track, and monitor receipt of placement slips in accordance with initial submission and final terms.
• Implement the company’s formal quality management process related to facultative reinsurance slips including verifying the completeness and content of the slip.
• Review client data submitted during the placement/renewal process for accuracy and consistency.
• Creation of Folders and maintain all relevant documents related to each account in the shared folder (Dropbox).
• Review placement slips to ensure they are consistent and accurately reflect binding agreement, or terms negotiated on behalf of clients and reinsurers.
• Ensure that Reinsurance slips are signed by participating reinsurers and counter-signed by insurer/cedent on a timely basis.
• Prepare a consolidated monthly report of quality review findings along with recommendations to Executive management.
• Preparing financial closing / debit notes.
• Clear/ follow-up pending subjectivities and other requirements required by the reinsurers.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• Strong ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail and multi-task.
• Good problem-solving skills to identify problems and to begin to formulate resolutions and recognize when to escalate to manager.
• Demonstrate commitment to clients and help them address issues proactively.
