Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and their families? We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our innovative new Service, supporting 11-17-year-olds across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
About the Role: You will be part of a dynamic team that takes a strength-based approach to help young people and their families overcome challenges and improve relationships. Working closely with families, you'll deliver flexible and responsive care packages that include respite, intervention, outreach, and family support to achieve positive outcomes.
The company has already established itself as a successful service in Cardiff, delivering intensive support and therapeutic interventions for the past three years. Due to its success and increased regional funding, the service is expanding to provide support across both Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide structured, evidence-based interventions to young people and their families, helping them build resilience, develop problem-solving skills, and achieve sustainable positive change.
Deliver a rapid response to children and families in crisis, helping them to address and overcome difficulties that place them at risk.
Work collaboratively with a skilled team to support young people at home and in our centres, offering flexible services that include evenings and weekends as needed.
Engage with adolescents who present with challenging behaviour, utilising your experience to guide and support them toward positive development.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with adolescents, particularly those who exhibit challenging behaviour.
- Ability to work collaboratively with carers and as part of a wider professional team.
- Flexibility in your work schedule, including availability for some evenings and weekends.
- A valid driving license and full use of a car.
- We will need to request an Enhanced DBS for you.
