Our O&G operator in Aberdeen is looking for a Contracts Manager to join them on either a contract or permanent working basis.

Job Profile Summary
The OM & Facilities Contracts Manager is responsible for driving strategic contracting across the organization. The role develops and implements a category management approach, creates annual procurement plans, and manages the contract lifecycle from strategy to performance. They lead the post-award contract management, ensuring contractors meet performance targets. The role also needs to demonstrate skills in MRP implementations and management.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Lead the development and implementation of a category management approach to strategic contracting, including the creation of an annual contracting plan and facilitation of regular Category Reviews
• Drive post-award Contract Performance Management (CPM) and ensure effective management of contractor performance delivery
• Develop and implement contracting strategies, establishing processes for effective contract lifecycle management, from strategy development to contract performance
• Work collaboratively with key strategic contractors to ensure clear understanding of business delivery needs and continual monitoring of performance targets (KPIs) towards successful attainment
• Drive process and performance improvement by implementing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with key business objectives (cost, quality, schedule, etc.)
• Secure approvals from internal and external stakeholders, and shareholders for contract awards, ensuring alignment and compliance with the governance process
• Negotiate and finalise contracts using standard RRUK contract templates in conjunction with the Legal department, ensuring the quality of negotiated agreements
• Enable the organization to manage change effectively, through Variation Orders (VORs) and amendments, throughout the lifecycle of major contracts
• Manage all aspects of maintenance contracts, including:
o Call-out maintenance contracts for both preventative and corrective maintenance
o Contracts for material warehouse replacements, including delivery after purchase orders, consignment contracts, and critical materials management involving advanced warehouse and stock control
o Coordinate with the Logistics department for efficient management of warehouse operations
o Prepare for shutdowns in coordination with the Maintenance Department to ensure smooth execution and minimal downtime
• Oversee the execution of large Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts
• Lead the selection and implementation of the most appropriate MRP system, considering factors such as determinism, reorder point, and other relevant methodologies based on organizational needs and industry best practices
• Define minimum and maximum reorder points, as well as budgetary stock levels, in collaboration with Material Logistics and Maintenance departments to optimize inventory management and ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing holding costs
• Develop criteria for identifying critical materials and configure the MRP system accordingly to prioritize their procurement and ensure uninterrupted production or maintenance activities
• Define release strategies according to established procedures, including approval workflows and authorization levels, to streamline procurement processes and maintain compliance with organizational policies and regulations
• Establish MRP Contracts reorder management protocols to govern supplier relationships, negotiate contract terms, and monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of materials at optimal costs
• Develop a comprehensive MRP planning schedule outlining key milestones, deliverables, and timelines for system implementation, testing, and deployment, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• Define roles and responsibilities for MRP management within the organization, including departmental assignments and reporting structures, to ensure clear accountability and effective coordination throughout the implementation process and ongoing system maintenance
• Coordinate integration between SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) and SAP for maintenance Work Orders management, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange between systems to support maintenance activities and optimize resource allocation

• Contribute to strategy development papers, invitations to tender, evaluation plans, recommendations to award, and negotiating plans to ensure alignment with company goals
• Conduct regular performance discussions with direct reports, fostering cross-functional cooperation and mentoring emerging leaders within the department.
Professional Skills and Experiences
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing maintenance contracts within the Oil & Gas Industry
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing large EPC contracts
• Experience in MRP implementations and management, using different of MRP systems as deterministic / reorder point, etc.
• Vast experience in the contracts domain within the Oil & Gas industry
• Proficient in Oil & Gas Supply Chain Management within the UKCS’s regulatory frameworks, with a deep understanding of market dynamics and contracting practices
• Demonstrates strong commercial and contractual acumen.
Educational Qualification certifications
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related fields. Master’s degree is preferred
• Certified in CIPS, CSCP, PMP, CPSM etc. are preferred.
Other Requirements
• The role may require travelling offshore for certain business requirements.
