Specialist Resource Base Teaching AssistantPRIMARY SPECIALIST RESOURCE BASE (SRB) Teaching Assistant – 1st January 2024 – permanent 32.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday 8:15am until 3:15pm (8:30-3:15pm will be considered) with 30 minute lunchbreak. Pay scale – BG8 £20,642-£22,099 (depending on experience) Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you passionate about inclusion and making a difference? The governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified TA with demonstrable experience, across both KS1 and KS2, to join our friendly and hardworking team. Shirehampton Primary School (SPS) is proud to be a local authority maintained primary school at the heart of the community. The school is well regarded by parents and oversubscribed in all year groups. We aim to make learning fun and motivating and have exceptionally skilled and dedicated staff. The SRB opened in November 2021 and is now well established. The base currently has up to 14 children (increasing to 16 in September 2024) who have EHCPs with an identified primary SEMH need. You will have experience in working with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The SRB is an integral part of the school as we place a strong emphasis on inclusion for our children for them to develop social relationships and friendships with a wider group of children. The role would involve working under the direction of the class teacher and HLTA to deliver specific educational programmes that are tailored for children with SEMH needs, as well as to the level of their individual needs, within the SRB as well as supporting meaningful inclusion within our mainstream classes. The ideal candidate would be able to support all areas of learning including developing speech and language skills, building independence, developing social interaction and communication, supporting emotional regulation and practical based learning. The successful candidate will: • Have experience of working or volunteering in a primary school setting being organised and experienced in using structured timetables, including visual timetables
• Understand the needs of primary school age children with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs, demonstrating flexibility and versatility
• Demonstrate a holistic approach to the well-being and education of pupils
• Embrace our inclusive ethos whilst maintaining high expectations for behaviour
• Be committed to building and maintaining positive, caring and supportive relationships
• Want to make a difference for young people and their families displaying high expectations for learning
