A. OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTION- SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
1. To provide clinical and administrative support to the Dental Officer to enable
maintenance of the surgery. This includes preparation/sterilisation of all instruments before

3. To ensure that not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for

is undertaken to the standards laid out in JSP 950 2-23-1.
14. To ensure compliance with Radiation Safety Orders and adhere to current Control of
Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
C. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
15. Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions.
16. Must hold valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognised
dental defence organisation.
17. Must provide evidence of clinical currency in accordance with JSP 950 Leaflet 4-1-4,
Returning to Clinical Practice, specifically a minimum of 2 clinical sessions per week over the
last 15 months.
18. To have completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development
(CPD) including medical emergencies, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults,

Undertake prescription chart checks in line with SOPs and refer interventions or discrepancies to the clinical pharmacist or healthcare professional whennecessary and appropriate. Conduct controlled drug audits on a three monthly basis and report results to ward or team manager, clinical pharmacist and Accountable Officer. The Enhanced Care Team is a team of Healthcare Support Workers covering Weston General Hospital, supporting patients who require a higher level of observation. These patients may be at risk of harm to themselves or others and you will help to maintain a safe environment for them while providing enrichment with meaningful activities. You will be part of a team, directed by an ECO team leader, but will work independently on an allocated ward.



You are required to follow Trust policies such as infection control and manual handling and will carry out a range of clinical tasks, under the direct or indirect supervision of the registered Nurse.

Supporting patients who require a higher level of observation, undertaking a range of duties with direct/indirect supervision of the RN. The SHCSW will be competent to provide compassionate care to agreed quality standards and will continue to develop further skills, knowledge and competencies that will be determined through assessment.

They must have an understanding of the Enhanced Care Observation (ECO) policy and the relative assessment documents. They will support individuals to participate in conversation and activities such as reminiscence-based activities, games & puzzles, simple crafts; together with supporting independence in activities of daily living. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and passionate people to become an integral part of our therapy team. The successful candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team, which may suit someone experienced in a special needs environment or newly qualified, who will be required to work closely with other Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals providing support to students; reporting to the Therapy Manager. Applications are invited for the full-time post of Specialty Doctor in Oncology. The post holder will be based on the Weston site of the Trust, within the Division of Specialised Services. Along with senior nursing staff, the successful applicant will be part of a core team dedicated to the care of day patients and for liaison with pharmacy, dietetics and palliative care teams as required.

The post-holder will be responsible for the continuity of patient care for patients being treated on the Oncology Day Unit, as well as clinically supporting the specialties of Lung and GI Oncology. This will also include supervision of patients admitted to the medical wards with chemotherapy related side effects and other cancer related problems, working together with the ward based medical staff. The post-holder will be part of the acute oncology team aiming to improve acute oncology services within the trust for patients with cancer or suspected cancer.

The Specialty Doctor will be responsible to the attending Consultant Oncologist and consultant advice will be available at all times as appropriate. The post-holder will be, with senior nursing staff, part of a core team dedicated to the care of day patients and for liaison with pharmacy, dietetics and palliative care teams as required.

Procedures in the Oncology Day Unit will include supervision of the administration of intra-venous chemotherapy, assessment of some patients prior to chemotherapy administration, assessment of new urgent cases, appropriate follow up of recently discharged patients.

The post-holder will be expected to participate in oncology clinics with the consultants, including clinics to support the recruitment, follow-up and management of patients participating in clinical trials. There will be good support from clinical trials staff within these clinics.
