A Vacancy at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
Do you want to be part of something new and exciting, a person-centred mental health revolution?
Together, we're stronger. Join the multi-agency drive for better mental health care.
An exciting opportunity is now available to join the West Directorate of Kent & Medway NHS trust, as one of our Clinical Lead Nurses for the new Mental Health Together Plus service. This is a great time to join the service as it is a time of ongoing transformation of community mental health services.
What is Mental Health Together?
In Kent and Medway, the community mental health transformation has created a new service model called Mental Health Together.
It is a multi-agency offer, which means bringing all the services and agencies that support people with varying mental health needs much closer together.
Mental Health Together will add new roles as part of a new joined-up model of care that bridges the gap between primary (i.e. GPs) and community mental health (i.e. KMPT). It will treat people with complex mental health needs by:
• Providing someone with support in a person-centred, holistic way
• Removing barriers to access, and thresholds across services working together
• Involving service users and carers as equal partners in their care
• Building in involvement and co-production at all levels of service design delivery
• Delivering needs-led and personalised trauma-informed care.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills that you’ll use to support the team to provide the best possible care. You'll work alongside our existing Operational Team Leader and Lead Clinician, with specific clinical leadership responsibilities and support decision-making around complex cases as a key member of the multidisciplinary team.
You will provide clinical and professional supervision to all band 6 nurses in the team. A flexible and can-do attitude is essential.
A diverse post-qualification experience in mental health is required, as is at least 3 years post-qualifying experience, with at least one of these years having worked in a Band 6 role.
Come and work with us in the Garden of England where we combine exceptional professional development opportunities with a tremendous quality of life.
We are Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), providing mental health, learning disability and specialist services, serving 1.8 million people across the county.
The Trust (rated Good overall by the CQC and Outstanding for Care) has 3,283 staff working in 66 buildings across 33 locations, covering an area of 1,450 square miles.
You will be joining friendly, passionate colleagues, rich in their diversity, who are committed to providing excellent care to our service users and their loved ones.
The nature of our work attracts kindness and compassion as standard and everyone from our cleaners and porters to the chief executive and chairman are recognised as playing a vital role in providing an exemplary service.
The Kent & Medway community mental health services operates Monday to Friday 9-5 and senior visibility is essential. Band 7 clinical lead nurse for Mental Health Together Plus will be based at Highlands House, Tunbridge Wells. As with all services, these arrangements may change as the service continues to develop. We are committed to supporting an effective work/life balance in the best interest of staff and patients and the service will strive to support your professional development through regular supervision in a supportive working environment. You will closely with the West Kent Matrons to continuously drive quality improvements in nursing care and treatment.
