Purpose of the Job:

General Practitioner is responsible for the safe, effective and timely delivery of medical assessments on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) - for new recruits to the Royal Navy, the Marines and the Reserves.


This involves adopting an occupational medicine approach. Initially the Primary Care notes and optician report are to be reviewed in order to determine if there are or have been any conditions that may impact on a candidate’s ability to safely carry out the role they have applied for, or that may be made worse by the role.


Then a face-to-face medical allows further discussion of the candidate’s history and a thorough head to toe (non-intimate) examination enables the clinician to assess the condition of the candidate.
Any conditions found which may have a bearing on their fitness to enter the Royal Navy or Royal Marines are discussed with a senior Naval clinician who takes a decision on the final outcome.
This is then communicated to the candidate.
Full training is given in this process and reference material is provided to support the clinicians.

Job Purpose

Assess all aspects of client's care needs and provide health supervision and direct Nursing Care when required.

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital

The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.

Healthcare Account Manager
Plymouth Hospital | Sales & Business Development | Permanent | Full Time

Our Healthcare Account Manager will deliver the hospitals marketing strategy and our charitable purpose. To increase patient referrals from GP's, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Corporates, as well as other potential groups. This is a split role between field based and on site of the hospital , with accountability for delivering targeted referrals and revenue across the Nuffield Health portfolio for a defined territory.

As our Healthcare Account Manager, you will:

• Promote Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital and the Nuffield Health brand consistently across all stakeholders, supporting the implementation of brand values and guidelines using social media, local advertising and local partnerships
• Promote Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital as the number one hospital of choice for potential patients and employees using social media, internal and external communication methods
• Organise internal and /or external events / conferences / briefings etc. ensuring accurate and complete supporting documentation is produced in a timely and efficient manner
• Build strong professional relationships with all stakeholders (members of the primary health care team, consumers, consultants, corporate clients and colleagues)
• Support & develop a targeted growth referral strategy with revenue targets for selected specialities and consultants which incorporates key audiences such as primary care, physiotherapists, local businesses, potential patients and other target audiences

Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital

The Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital is situated next to the Nuffield Health Devonshire Gym, in Derriford, Plymouth and we have been part of the Plymouth community since 1971. We have 3 main theatres - 2 laminar flow and 1 digital, a fully JAG accredited endoscopy suite, a 35-bedded ward with one 4 bedded bay and one 2 bedded bay. Our outpatients department has 12 consulting rooms with a dedicated ophthalmology suite and ENT service.

We carry out treatment under a range of specialities including Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery. We recently were rated in the top 50 hospitals in the country for our total hip replacement patient outcomes.

What skills and experience we're looking for

Principal Accountabilities:

To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups, and occasionally for whole classes.

Assessing, identifying and recording individuals progress and achievements in these threads of the SEND Code of Practice (2014 and updated versions).

To be responsible for the management and development of a specialism within the school, and/or management of other teaching assistants including allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training.

To work under an agreed system of supervision/management to deliver learning and to be a specialist knowledge resource by:

• Leading the planning cycle under supervision.
• Delivering lessons to groups/whole classes.
• Managing other staff.
• Providing data and reports each cycle to show progress and review provision and delivery and discuss with the SENDCO possible developments.

Work Pattern: Typical working hours would be Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 4.00pm, earlier finish on Fridays

34.62 hrs per week x 39 weeks (Term Time Only)

Grade: NJC Grade E Scale Point 16 - 22 (£28,282 - £31,364 per annum).

Actual starting salary £22,763 per annum, including holiday pay but pending pay award

Key Function 1 – Student Support

• Organising and managing an appropriate learning environment and resources.
• In liaison with classroom teachers, plan challenging teaching and learning activities, evaluating and adjusting lessons as appropriate.
• Monitoring and evaluating student responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies against learning objectives.
• Providing accurate feedback in line with the schools reporting system on student progress, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence.
• Provide responsive support to dysregulated students presenting in the SASC, classrooms and throughout the school.
• Directly liaising with the relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Assessing the needs of students and monitoring the progress of all students through analysis of data.
• Using specialist skills and knowledge to support students’ learning.
• Contributing to the implementation and the development of learning profiles liaising with teachers, key workers, other HLTAs and the SENDCo.
• Managing behaviour for learning within the classroom and developing effective ways of overcoming barriers to learning, promoting self-control and independence.
• Establishing productive relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations for behaviour and learning.
• Encouraging students to interact and work cooperatively with others and engaging all students in activities.

• Liaise with the HLTA Transition to support an enhanced transition for new Year 7s students in the Summer Term.

Key Function 2 – Curriculum Delivery

• Delivering learning activities to students within agreed systems of supervision, adjusting activities according to different students’ needs.
• Delivering local and national learning strategies e.g. literacy, numeracy, KS3 & KS4 and making effective use of opportunities provided by other learning activities to support the development of students’ skills.
• Using ICT effectively to support learning activities to develop students’ competence and independence in its use.
• Selecting and preparing resources necessary to lead learning activities, taking account of students’ interests and language and cultural backgrounds.
• Advising on appropriate deployment and use of specialist aid/resources/equipment across the school.
• Plan interventions for the Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to ensure students are able to apply the skills learnt into a mainstream lesson environment.

Key Function 3 – Wider School Support

• Support the SENDCo in producing the SEND Department Improvement Plan as part of the School Improvement Plan, to include staff development and training implications.
• To share best practice with all staff on strategies to support students with specific communication or physical difficulties.
• To plan, deliver and evaluate SLCN programmes for students identified with specific difficulties, including ASC and language delay.
• Assisting with the development of school policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection. Reporting all concerns to the SENDCO.
• Ensure that all students have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
• To support the school’s ethos, playing a full part in the life of the school, and to be a positive role model.
• Establish constructive relationships and communicate effectively with teaching staff and outside agencies in liaison with the SEN/D Department to support the progress of students.
• Take the initiative to develop multi-agency approaches to supporting students.
• Recognising your own strengths and areas of expertise and using these to lead, advise and support others.
• Enhance the schools’ culture of high expectations, standards and attainment for all students.

• Line management of Teaching Assistants and/or Learning Support Assistants.
• Representing Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants at appropriate meetings.

Pharmacy Retail Stock Count Assistant

Salary: £12.89 per hour inclusive of holiday pay (£11.50 per hour + £1.39 holiday pay)

We are currently looking for a motivated, professional, and flexible individual able to work 5 days a week, Monday to Friday day shifts, within a small stock count team, counting our Pharmacy Clients.

This role will be based in the Oxford area with the flexibility to travel around surrounding areas. You must be able to drive.

In this role, you are required to accurately count stock for Retail & Asset Solutions in various high street Pharmacies, this role is extremely important to ensure pharmacies are fully stocked with the medication required for local Doctors and Hospitals.

Please note all training is provided upon your first shift.

Previous stock, audit or retail experience is advantageous but not essential.

Some sites are in warehouses or large retail premises where you may be required to access and work with ground and high level stock, therefore you will be bending and stretching to reach stock throughout your shift and at times may possibly be outdoors.

This role will involve working unsociable hours, working early mornings or night shifts, this therefore means we are unable to hire anyone under the age of 18 years.
