An exciting opportunity to joint NHS England South East Region as part of the Commissioning Finance Team.
We are looking for a Finance Manager who is highly motivated, talented, and well organised to join and lead the Pharmacy, Ophthalmic and Dental (POD) Finance Team.
POD services have been delegated to Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) with the POD Finance team providing a financial service through a Hub model.
The successful applicant will play a significant role in supporting commissioners within the Commissioning Hub and ICBs to deliver one of the key NHS objectives for 2024/25 – making it easier for people to access community and primary care services, in particular dentistry.
• Lead the POD Finance Team to ensure a comprehensive financial management process is provided for Pharmacy, Ophthalmic and Dental Services.
• Act as key point of contact between regional and ICB finance teams for POD services.
• Provide information to ICBs relating to delegated services that is clear, accurate and timely.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
• Lead POD Finance team and provide a comprehensive financial management service for POD services on behalf of ICBs.
• Access information from variety of sources to inform planning, budget setting, month end reporting and forecasting.
• Preparation of journals
• Directly manage team of staff, taking responsibility for day to day work assigned to the team.
• Responsible for undertaking appraisal and personal development for team members.
• Prepare regular financial reports for ICBs to inform and explain position including variance analysis.
• Meet regularly with ICB Finance Colleagues as part of the month end cycle and other meetings as required.
• Forge strong working relationships with key stakeholders
• Provide professional leadership to team, interpreting and sharing guidance received from national bodies.
