For our children with medical needs to participate fully in school life and achieve their potential, we are excited to recruit a new role of a Medical Support Assistant.
You’ll be responsible for providing medical support to children with short, long and/or complex conditions and chronic illnesses. This can range from supporting children with type 1 diabetes who may need support to use their medical equipment or may need support in administering insulin to supporting children with asthma and allergies as well as administering medicine to children with a short term illness. In addition, there are children with downs syndrome or cerebral palsy who may need medical support. Being a team player, you will work with colleagues across school to support with interpreting medical information, supporting with the development of individual health care plans as well as liaising with parents.

Liaise regularly with the attendance team advising them on individual children’s conditions and the potential impact on their attendance.
