We are looking to recruit some highly motivated and enthusiastic social work professionals that can work within an integrated setting and have an ability to form good relationships with other professionals and with vulnerable groups of people that come into contact with mental health and substance misuse services. To fulfil the statutory role of professional Social Worker undertaking a comprehensive range of social work tasks including needs assessment, risk assessment, care planning and care management and joint work with other agencies as required. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) Nursing Home Team (NHT) and Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) are recruiting motivated, innovative and critical thinking, dedicated practitioners to the team. We have 1 part-time permanent position available to join the Children's Occupational Therapy Service in Edinburgh.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Children's Occupational Therapy Service.

Our team focuses on a child’s home and school environments to assess where potential changes can improve participation and wellbeing. We work in partnership with the child, their parents, caregivers, and other professionals to support the child within their environments. Our team’s aim is to improve quality of life, reduce risk, increase a child’s independence wherever possible while supporting the family by providing equipment and/or adaptations at home and school. Assessments are generally in relation to the provision of specialist equipment (seating / bathing), minor and major adaptations, moving and handling and housing needs assessments.

The post will require you to: work as an Occupational Therapist undertaking a range of occupational therapy services including assessment and care management of service users’ needs to children and young people with disabilities who are resident within the City of Edinburgh, and also for young people who are looked after and accommodated by the City of Edinburgh Council. Deliver occupational therapy services in accordance with current legislation, Council procedures and standards.

What you will be doing

• Deliver FM and Health & Safety within Diligenta to budget, be a point of contact for FM & H&S issues within Scottish Region.
• Investigate and report accidents related incidents to the HSE within nominated sites
• Coordinate and arrange H&S training
• Coordinate Emergency Response arrangements arrange appointments and training for First Aiders, Fire Marshals, DSE assessors, Manual Handling Operators and general H&S awareness
• Support the Head of FM as required, ensure all H&S documentation including Policies and Procedures are frequently reviewed, updated and compliant with latest regulations.
• Conduct DSE and risk assessments as required, assist in the implementation of remedial activities.
• Oversee desk allocation at each site
• Coordinate office moves and update spreadsheets as required
• Assist Head of FM and HSE Delivery Manager with client meetings on client managed sites. Including minutes
• Reconciliation of invoices for third party suppliers

What we are looking for

• You should possess the IOSH Managing Safely certification, displaying your commitment to health and safety, and you have or are willing to complete the NEBOSH qualification within your first year in the role.
• A minimum of a Grade C in GCSE Maths & English is required to demonstrate your numerical competence and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• You should also be educated to A Level standard, which reflects a foundational understanding of a broader range of subjects and critical thinking skills.
• Experience in conducting Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments is important to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effectively engaging with team members and stakeholders to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• You should have a background that includes knowledge of creating and monitoring budgets, which is crucial for managing resources effectively and ensuring financial accountability.

The Paediatric Diabetes Specialist nurse team here at Northumbria has some exiting changes ahead of it and with that we are looking to expand our current nursing workforce. This post is for anyone seeking to move or develop into a band 6 specialist nurse role in children's diabetes here at Northumbria Healthcare.

The post holder will be expected to deliver specialist nursing care to a defined caseload of patients diagnosed with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. This will include taking responsibility for a specialist group of patients with complex clinical and social needs supported by the band 7 nurse lead.

They will assist the development of pathways and treatment plans for children with diabetes.

They will co-ordinate transition services for young people including liaising with the adult services in order to establish transitional clinics

They will provide education and training for patients and their families/carers as well as other healthcare professionals such as school and acute paediatric nurses who are looking after children with diabetes.

The post holder will work across the boundaries of hospital and community care spanning transition from childhood to young adult.

The post holder will have professional responsibility for a caseload of child within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHCFT) Care may be delivered both in the acute environment and within the community setting.

The post holder will have knowledge and specialist training in the diabetes nursing, ensuring the highest standard of personalised nursing care is delivered to patients and their families in partnership with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

To have responsibility for the supervision and assessment of care needs relating to paediatric diabetes and the delivery and maintenance of optimal care outcomes and will provide professional and clinical care advice to patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team.

We are ideally looking for someone who has Pharmacy experience however, this is not essential and applications are welcome from those looking to progress into a role within Pharmacy.

This role is one that will require a number of formal training programmes that require completion both in working hours, but also sometime outside of working hours.
