Role Purpose

Our Team Members are the core part of every Brewpub and key to the experience of our guests. You will be the friendly, smiling face that greets our guests, be passionate about great food, drinks (particularly craft beer) and high standards of service.

You will be keen to learn and take advantage of all the development opportunities available at B&K whilst working in a fun and supportive environment

As a Team Member, you’ll be taking orders, be confident about recommending dishes and drinks (particularly our own-brewed B&K beers), serving food and drinks, delivering a great experience for our guests, and helping with the setting-up and closing-down of the Brewpub.

What skills and experience we're looking for

Job Description:

The Lead Teacher of DT in Food and Nutrition is an exciting addition to the Gloucester academy team.

The Department:

The successful candidate will lead the Food and Nutrition team with the DT department to ensure exceptional results at Key Stage 4. The Lead Teacher of DT in Food and Nutrition will also coordinate the offer of enrichment activities which will include after school cooking clubs. The school is investing heavily into Food and Nutrition and this is a chance for an ambitious person to build the profile of Hospitality and Catering within the Academy and local area.

The department has a modern student kitchen and an experienced and dedicated technician. The current Hospitality & Catering Lead teaches KS4 and three other experienced teachers teach KS3.

Curriculum:

At Gloucester Academy, we recognise the importance of Food and Nutrition, and Hospitality and Catering, and the role it has to play in developing students’ cultural awareness, confidence and teamwork skills. Our food curriculum is both hands-on and academically rigorous in order to provide all students with the theoretical and practical knowledge that underpins the production of food. We have a shared curriculum and shared planning in dedicated PD time which is protected in the timetable.

The duties and responsibilities in this job description are not restrictive and the post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that may be required from time to time. Any such duties should not however substantially change the general character of the post.
