Lead Radiographer for Operations
To be responsible for, with the Head of Service and Lead Clinician, the operational management and strategic planning of the trust wide Radiology Service.
To work with Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers and Modality Leads to develop and implement the strategic plan for the whole integrated service.
To lead the Radiography Service and to work collaboratively to deliver a fully integrated radiography service, ensuring sustainable outcomes and meeting Divisional/Trust objectives.
To ensure inter-professional leadership for the service and staff in order to deliver a quality service to patients.
To be the lead for clinical governance ensuring a safe and effective service for patients and staff.
To lead service development and innovation responding to National agenda, Trust, CCG and professional drivers.

Management & Leadership
To operationally manage the effective and efficient running of Imaging services within the available resources.
To be responsible for the future development of imaging service provision by the collection and evaluating of activity, demand and capacity including the analysing of data collected.
To ensure policies and procedures within imaging services comply with and reflect changes to legislation, including Health and Safety and risk management, working with the Clinical Governance team to ensure these are maintained, renewed, and that they are acted upon.
To encourage staff in their personal development and provide an atmosphere within the imaging service to facilitate the use of their knowledge and skills and to incorporate the views and thoughts of the public and other users of the service. This will include looking at new ways of working and good working practices.
To encourage collaboration across all imaging services to improve the total overall service to the patient.
To ensure that all imaging equipment within designated modalities is maintained according to set guidelines and assist modality leads with contractual service reviews and procurement discussions.
To take responsibility for ensuring that investigation takes place into any actual or potential breaches of legal, professional, or organisational practices, and that all necessary action is taken to deal with them appropriately.
To lead, manage and assess processes within the context of procurement, evaluation and selection of imaging equipment, including setting specifications and the writing of business cases to support service development.
To lead by example and display a leadership style that demonstrates trust values, empowers staff and develops and nurtures development at all levels.
To undertake the strategic planning, service planning and overall management of the trust wide Radiology Service, ensuring that levels of service are met within agreed resources and standards.
To establish links and communication across divisions and services.
To implement strategies and policies to respond to changes within health and social care, including implementation of National Service Frameworks, NICE guidelines, Trust and CCG objectives.
To ensure service development and embed innovation to improve patient pathways, challenging traditional practices and embedding innovative problem solving.
To liaise with external organisations and enable the development and maintenance of robust working relationships across the local health and social care community.
To be responsible for workforce planning, identifying the future needs of the service in line with modernisation and changing healthcare needs.
To be responsible for recruitment, retention and regular review of staffing levels and skill mix within the service to ensure these meet the needs of the services, national targets and Trust objectives.
To lead the service through periods of change, managing any constraints, tensions and opportunities sensitively and appropriately.
