We have an exciting opportunity available for an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team and lead on these two specialty areas, supported by additional members of the pharmacy team.

You will lead on all aspects of medicines optimisation and medication use within the specialties, supporting medical and nursing teams, as well as allied health professionals in the safe and effective use of medicines.

Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation at the Trust are well developed and we are committed to sharing excellence through our clinical services and teaching roles. We are actively seeking to progress and expand the roles undertaken by our senior clinical pharmacy team into areas such as out-patient clinics and patient support groups.

We will support you to continue to develop your advanced skills in clinical pharmacy, and would expect you to have a significant impact on the use of medicines by supporting safe and high quality services and supporting the patient journey.

Working within and leading a small pharmacy team, you will use appropriate skill mix within the team to ensure that medicines reconciliations are completed in a timely manner in line with current national recommendations, the safe and efficient use of patient's own medication and effective communication through transfers of care.

Through excellent leadership skills, you will be expected to implement changes required to ensure that the service runs in a safe, efficient and cost-effective way.

You will develop excellent working relationships with senior leaders within these specialty areas, investigating opportunities for expanding roles to support patient pathways. You will work with senior pharmacy leaders to progress these opportunities and bring them to fruition.

Specific Duties

1. Provide an advanced and highlyspecialisedclinical pharmacy service to the areas of Endocrinology and Cardiology.

2. Lead on all aspects of medicinesoptimisationwithin the areas of Diabetes and Cardiology, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure use of safe, optimum and cost effective treatments, in line with national and local policies.

3. Contribute to the provision of audit and policy development in relevant areas.

4. Deputise, where necessary, for advanced clinical pharmacists from other relevant specialties.

5. Provide supervision to other members of the pharmacy team in a clinical environment.

6. Provide medicines reconciliation, review and care planning for individual patients with complex medication needs.

7. Counsel patients in the correct use of medicines that have been prescribed and provide support when needed.

8. Ensure seamless transfer of care through excellent communication and the use of electronic resources, e.g. PharmOutcomes

9. Collect, manipulate andanalysedata on the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the effects of the Directorate Pharmacist, by participating in intervention monitoring, encouraging the reporting of medicines errors and undertaking practice research.

10.Assist in the development of policies, guidelines and pathways relating to drug therapies.

11. Undertake the professional duties of a pharmacist in order to ensure that the medicine use process conforms to legal, ethical and moral guidelines accepted by the General Pharmaceutical Council and Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

12. Be an active member of the ward-based multi-disciplinary care team.

13.Represent Pharmacy at directorate/service meetings relevant to clinical area of practice.

14. Provide advice on medicines use and medicines expenditure to the Directorate.

15. Liaise with Pharmacy section heads on matters of mutual interest.

16. Contribute to the clinical development of all staff by participating in assessments of need, proficiency and the delivery of training.

17. Provide directive teaching, small group work and on-ward teaching rounds to medical undergraduates, junior medical staff and other health care practitioners.

General Duties

11. Reduce sickness absence; work place accidents; and promote zero tolerance on violence against staff.

12. Take responsibility for personal development and education and the development of a Personal Development Plan.

13.Be a designated line manager for a junior pharmacist(s) and/or technician. This will include responsibility for carrying out regular appraisals and one to ones, managing sickness absence and ensuring business goals are clearly communicated and linked to objectives.

14. Review training and development of staff, so all staff have a personal development plan and support staff in reaching their full potential through the appraisal process.

15. To act as the Responsible Pharmacist when covering the In-patient or Out-Patient Dispensaries in the Trust, which includes supervising Over the Counter Medicines sales direct to patients, using your skills in managing minor ailments.

16. To act as an Independent Prescriber (once qualified) to provide direct care to patients by means of any Trust prescribing stationery.

They will participate in the development and delivery of education programmes for Trust staff in the speciality of alcohol misuse. The band 5 nurse will be responsible for supporting a caseload of individual patients who are not engaging in the community which results in hospital admission and frequently attend Trust services. The post holder will be expected to play an active role in all aspects of the anaesthetics and critical care team commitments.

The post holder will be working on a 1 in 8 resident on-call rota with prospective cover on a full shift pattern. While on-call the post-holder will cover intensive care unit or anaesthesia for emergency operations in the operating theatres or obstetrics.

The department’s activities cover a range of surgical specialties including General Surgery, Day Case Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Plastics, Dental and Maxillofacial surgery. A consultant led service for ICU, Obstetrics, Acute & Chronic Pain is also provided. The department is recognised by the Royal College of Anaesthetists for Schedule l Training.

It is the responsibility of the post-holder to ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with current quality initiatives within the area of work.

Day-to-day management of patients, including liaising with multi-disciplinary team. Responsible for undertaking the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.

Work cooperatively with colleagues and to respect their contribution to patient care.

Ensure accurate record of patient care episodes and outcomes as well as effective communication with nursing and professional staff in relation to patient care.

Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.

Applicants must be fully registered with the General Medical Council (London) with a license to practice. Possession of the primary FRCA or equivalent is desirable. Applications from clinicians unable to work full-time will also be considered.

Role Purpose:
As a Third-Party Property Damage Claims Handler, you'll play a crucial role in our claims team, responsible for investigating and resolving third-party property damage claims. You'll utilize your expertise in liability assessments and negotiations to ensure fair and accurate settlements while maintaining excellent customer service.


Job Details

• Investigate and assess third-party property damage claims, gathering relevant information and evidence.
• Liaise with external parties, such as claimants, solicitors, and other insurance companies, to negotiate and settle claims.
• Analyse policy documentation to determine coverage and applicability.
• Evaluate liability and quantum to determine accurate settlement amounts.
• Manage a caseload of claims while ensuring adherence to company guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather insights and share knowledge for continuous improvement.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of claims activities using the company's systems.

• Prior experience in liability investigations and negotiations, ideally within an insurance or legal context.
