The above exciting opportunity have arisen as a result of investment in the Clinical Psychology resource within the Urgent Care Pathway. The Specialist Autism Team was first established in May 2021. Since then the team has continued to grow and develop. The service is commissioned to offer an Inreach, Outreach and Discharge Facilitation.

We want to hear from you if you are highly committed to working with autistic adults. We are offering an opportunity for a registered nurse (Mental Health or Learning Disability), OT or social worker to join our multi-disciplinary team as part of our discharge facilitation pathway.

Within this pathway, our primary role is to support autistic individuals back into the community, planning discharge collaboratively from the point of admission in a timely, well planned and sustainable approach. You will also support the individual and their support networks for 6 weeks post discharge to ensure their discharge is safe. It is vital that you have good understanding of autistic differences and the policy’s around hospital discharges.

You will work closely with the Multi-disciplinary Team of the Specialist Autism Team which consists of Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Learning Disabilities Nurses, Mental Health Nurses, Social workers, Psychology and Assistant Psychology and wider Multi-disciplinary team such as Local Authority, Key Workers and the Integrated Care Board (ICB).

The team prides it’s self on the diverse knowledge of each professional. We are very supportive of and encourage continuous learning and development. For this reason we have regular team development sessions or group reflection sessions and each team member plays a vital role in sharing knowledge and information. One to one supervision is held at least every 4 weeks where your personal development is discussed. We have weekly clinical decision meetings where shared decision making is promoted.

To date we have supported autistic people and their support networks who have experienced a number of challenges including high levels of anxiety, unforeseen changes within their life and sensory and communication differences which haven’t yet been fully explored and understood back into the community identifying any autistic differences and additional support that may be needed in order for the individual to live a fulfilling life, in the hope to avoid further hospital admissions.

We work between the hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required on occasion, to meet individual need.

Secure Mental Health Care for Lancashire and South Cumbria is provided at Guild Lodge, Whittingham. The service has steadily expanded from it's inception in 1999 and currently has a range of inpatient and community services including 154 beds.

Guild Lodge consists of 3 main service lines (14 wards), which include:

o Men's service
o Women's service
o Acquired Brain Injury Service

An exciting opportunity has a risen to join a new Treating Tobacco Dependency Service offering specialist support to patients admitted to our inpatients sites across LSCFT. This service is key to delivering the ambitions of the NHS long term plan to provide treatment for tobacco dependency for all patients admitted to hospital, making a significant contribution to public health and reducing health inequalities.

Tobacco addiction is a chronic relapsing disease and the single biggest cause of preventable death, disability, illness and social inequality. One in two smokers die due to their smoking. People with mental health condition have higher rates of mortality compared to the general population and smoking is the single most contributing factor to their 10-20 year reduction in life expectancy.

This post will involve working directly with patients to assess their needs related to tobacco dependency and to work with them to identify treatment and specialist support to enable them make a successful quit attempt. Support may be face to face, remote consultation or via telephone.

We are looking for team members who are motivated, organised and dynamic who are passionate about supporting care and improving lives through engaging, motivating patients to stop smoking.

This is a role is diverse and will offer the opportunity to visits sites with the LSCFT to deliver smoking cessation , deliver and training and to support the implementation of the Trust Tobacco Smoke Free Policy. This post will require strong communication skills, teamwork and flexibility to ensure the service can provide a high quality service supporting patients across a variety of sites within Lancashire and South Cumbria.

There are two assistant electronics technician posts available, these are full time established posts.

Prior to being selected for interview there will be a session to attend at the hospital where your aptitude and manual dexterity will be examined, along with presentations about the job and the department.

The small, but highly skilled, Radiotherapy Engineering Team is in need of a talented assistant electronics technician capable of maintaining extremely complex medical technology. Our engineering team is close knit and offers a warm welcome to new recruits. You will be made to feel very much part of the team.

Your responsibilities will encompass the design, manufacturing, and rigorous testing of bespoke mechanical and electronic devices. Additionally, you'll assume a pivotal role in the installation of radiotherapy equipment, offering invaluable assistance to guarantee optimal performance.

Full training will be provided both on-site and at manufacturers training centres. You will be expected to attend college to attain a HNC in electrical and electronic engineering which will be fully funded by the Trust. You will be expected to work towards membership of the Register of Clinical Technologists.

You will work with other radiotherapy engineers in providing electronic, electrical, mechanical and IT systems support within a multidisciplinary engineering department for the maintenance, calibration and repair of all cancer treatment and associated equipment within the Rosemere Cancer Centre Radiotherapy Department. Maintenance, design and manufacture.



· To partake in planned and unplanned maintenance of complex radiotherapy treatment delivery equipment and associated IT systems.

· To manufacture bespoke beam limiting devices to required tolerances using lead and other metals, and high density low melting point alloy.

· To partake in planned and unplanned maintenance of beam measuring equipment.

· To assist in installs of radiotherapy and associated equipment.

· To liaise with equipment manufacturers for maintenance advice and guidance.

· To attend technical, academic training courses as required.

· To manufacture bespoke and replacement test leads.

· Carry the departmental phone on a rotational basis to provide first contact for radiotherapy equipment problems.

· To provide safety support for more senior engineers as required.

· To design, manufacture and install custom mechanical items used on RT and other equipment.





Communication



· Cascade information from training to other staff members enabling them to maintain appropriate and correct standards.

· To provide limited technical advice on engineering or technical matters to other staff within the department.

· To liaise with outside agencies ensuring any information is shared with the appropriate staff.





Quality Assurance.



· To partake in routine and none-routine radiotherapy quality assurance.

· To perform on-going calibration and quality control of clinical dosimeters.





Information Collection and Analysis.



· To be able to locate documentation necessary for the correct operation and maintenance of equipment within radiotherapy.

· To collect and analyse data from radiotherapy treatment equipment to enable failure trends and performance variation to be identified.

· To use commercially available software to produce text documents, spreadsheets and databases for data analysis.

· Maintain logs of any faults or interventions that occur on radiotherapy equipment.

· To comply with Information Governance policy and legislation.





Take part in Research and Development



· To assist in R&D projects and to liaise with other staff working on such projects.





To maintain and develop own professional competence.



· Participate in appraisal and personal development planning process and have a current appraisal and personal development plan.
