University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust are looking to expand the talented Medicine for Older People team to drive an ambitious future vision for Geriatrics and Frailty at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

An exciting opportunity to join the Medicine for Older People team here at the Bristol Royal Infirmary at UHBW, working alongside an established multidisciplinary team of 10 consultants, 1 specialty doctor and 1 associate specialist. The successful candidate will carry out their duties across the BRI site and will be required to participate in additional on-call commitments. Candidates wishing to work less than full time are welcome to apply. The successful applicant will have a specialist interest in Parkinson’s and movement disorders

The post holder will support the care of complex, frail older people through our front door frailty service, on our Medicine for older people wards and through outpatient clinics. They will join a team of consultants well supported by a highly qualified multi professional team. They will contribute to the supervision of our junior medical staff, teaching to undergraduate medical students and welcoming professional visitors to our team. The model of care provided by our Medicine for older people service continues to develop and expand which makes it an exciting time to join team. The post holder will be expected to comply with all relevant trust policies relating to administration of patient care. This will include working to set timescales for the triage of referrals, the completion of discharge summaries prior to patients being discharged, following the specific process for the management of patients that do not attend their appointment or admission and the completion of all paperwork deemed necessary to support the management of their patients within agreed timescales. Consultants are expected to work with the service managers and clinical colleagues to manage their caseload in a flexible way, to ensure both clinical, national and local priorities are achieved.

The South West Capital team manages significant capital resource for the region. This includes c.£1.0 billion of system operational capital and national programme capital for 2024/25. The role is a key part of the South West Regional Finance Directorate, delivering support to system, commissioner and provider organisations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day reporting and monitoring of the regional capital programme, in addition to other strategic finance work as required. The post will be developed flexibly with the successful candidates, who may want more, or fewer Gastroenterology or Hepatology clinics, or endoscopy lists (training or service).We are expanding our research portfolio and that interests the applicant, a formal research contribution can be integrated into the job plan.

The post has a full contribution to the medical SpR on call rota.

Although this is a non-training post, it is very well-supported, with named clinical and educational supervisors, departmental and Trust level teaching and learning opportunities. The post-holder is encouraged to attend the regional Gastroenterology and GIM Training Days.

Candidates must have GMC registration that allows them to work in posts that are not recognised for training. It is essential that candidates have experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent, and have MRCP.

Assistant Psychologist – Adults of Working Age Inpatient Services, North View, North Manchester General Hospital 1 w.t.e, fixed term (12 months) - Band 4

This post provides a great opportunity to gain experience of working psychologically as an assistant psychologist in acute care services (inpatient ward and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU)) for adults of working age. You will be joining a new team of psychologists and will be working closely with the qualified psychologists to provide psychological input to the Trust’s adult inpatient units in North Manchester. You will be working with an experienced team of medical staff, nurses and occupational therapists. The multi- disciplinary teams on each ward specialise in caring for adults of working age, and offer assessment and treatment for a wide range of mental health needs. The psychology team seeks to support holistic, individualised, culturally sensitive care, planned and delivered in collaboration with each service user. As a team we endeavour to work closely with urgent care and the community teams to ensure a seamless admission and discharge, supporting each person to return to their optimum health.





You will be an active member of the acute care workforce. The successful post holder will be working under the supervision of a qualified psychologist and with the operational support of acute care management to facilitate the running of psychology groups for service users on the wards and PICU. Other tasks include brief focussed psychological interventions, supporting the qualified psychologists with team formulation sessions, supporting the development of new groups and initiatives on the ward and attending peer supervision sessions.

The psychology team is committed to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a compassionate, trauma informed and person centred approach.

The post holder will receive regular clinical supervision from a senior psychologist, and will receive appropriate training opportunities.

We have an interest in working psychologically with people who often do not get to access psychology (such as people with psychotic experiences or complex trauma). We are also interested in adapting psychological approaches to make them more inclusive and culturally sensitive. We have strong links to the regional Doctoral Clinical Psychology Training courses.

A Vacancy at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.


This 12 month Paediatric Anaesthesia post-CCT fellowship is intended to give the experience and skills required for a consultant post within paediatric anaesthesia in a specialist centre or in a district general hospital. It is based in the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC), part of the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW).



The post will be available for a start date of 6thAugust 2025. The option to take up the post for six months may be considered.



BRHC is the Regional Children’s Hospital for the South West and moved to its current site in 2001. It contains the regional PICU & retrieval service.

Three months of the twelve month post can be spent working in paediatric intensive care, which may include shifts for the regional retrieval service WATCh, depending on the individual training needs of the fellow.

The primary responsibility of the post holder is to participate in the service provided by the Anaesthetic Department through a programme of accompanied and unaccompanied theatre sessions. The post holder will have additional duties on-call, supporting the pain service during the daytime and out of hours.



The candidate will take part in the registrar on-call rota, which is compliant with the EWTD and new junior doctor contract.



The candidate may spend three months working on intensive care, participating in the PICU and Retrieval on call rota, depending on the training needs of the fellow.
