Our Top 100 client is seeking a Professional Indemnity Claims Handler to support their fantastic national practice in Bristol. You will manage a caseload of professional indemnity claims across a range of delegated authority claims handling schemes offered to insurer clients. These claims involve defending, on behalf of insurers, a wide variety of professionals including accountants, architects, engineers, solicitors, IFAs and surveyors.
Your new role
You will be defending claims both with and without the assistance of panel solicitors, depending on the value and complexity of the claim. You will be actively involved in dealing with claims from initial notification through to settlement; successful rebuttal; or until the matter falls outside of the parameters of the claims handling scheme. You will be reviewing new claims and assessing liability and quantum, as well as a preliminary assessment of coverage.
Your role will also involve dealing directly with clients, assisting them in responding to claims by drafting letters for them to send, approving correspondence, instructing experts and where appropriate, conducting settlement negotiations on behalf of the client. You will also be involved in business development and marketing with the qualified fee earners.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience of handling professional indemnity claims and handling (pre-litigation) aspects of a file, have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and have a confident, assertive yet friendly telephone manner. You should be able to prioritise a busy workload whilst working to SLA deadlines, have good IT literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel, possess good negotiating skills; and a willingness to find practical, innovative and commercial solutions.

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a full time Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) with a specialist interest in skin cancer This appointment is part of an expansion plan within our department aimed at addressing increased demand for our regional specialist service. The 10.75 session post is for 12 months in the first instance but consideration of converting to a substantive position will be given after this period.

The applicant will be expected to form an integral part of the established OMFS Service. They should have broad experience of treating the full remit of our specialty’s work but this post has a particular emphasis on management of skin cancer. The post is part funded by the dermatology service which our department works collaboratively with. The applicant should be prepared to contribute to working with both the head & neck and skin MDTs. A fellowship in skin cancer would be considered desirable to address the complex case mix within our department.

The position has scope to be part of the Pan Avon on-call rota at a 1:8 level with doubly qualified StRs and dentally qualified DCT forming the first two tiers of the rota. The applicant should therefore be experienced in the whole remit of OMFS trauma and would be expected to contribute to trauma management.

Our client, a collaborative and nurturing international firm, is looking for a Property & Casualty Claims Handler to join their vibrant and growing Insurance Group in Bristol. Your new role
The role largely involves running a case load of subrogated recovery matters on behalf of a range of insurers. The work will be varied, interesting and challenging and where you show you can run the cases successfully, you will be given autonomy to stamp your own mark on the files; there will be the opportunity to work on matters varying in value from £10,000 all the way up to millions of pounds. Manage a large caseload of Property Insurance claims.

The role of the Solicitor is to support the Healthcare Legal Services Team in the provision of a dedicated in-house legal service, which includes the following core areas:

· Healthcare advice: including but not limited to consent, capacity, data protection, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act, for both adults and children. We manage High Court Applications inhouse, at a significant cost saving to the Trust.

· Disclosure requests: assisting the police and local authority on childcare and criminal proceedings, where the Trust may not be a party to proceedings. We have experience of managing complex childcare proceedings inhouse, as the South West regional centre for children.

· Training: internal and external training on above core areas of work.

About the Role:We are seeking a robust and flexible Interim Finance Manager to join the team in Bristol. This role involves managing a team of 7, including 3 direct reports, and supporting the Head of Finance in improving current processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in the charity sector and be available to start as soon as November next week.

As a senior manager within the Finance function, the Finance Manager - Management Accounting will be accountable and responsible for the provision of accurate and timely operational financial reports & analysis, including budgets and forecasts for the organisation.
They will ensure that the operational business areas operate within an adequate financial control environment in compliance with the appropriate regulatory requirements including centrally determined financial accounting policies and delegated authority levels.
The postholder will have overall accountability for ensuring that the organisation is properly reimbursed on a timely basis for the services it provides through management of the billing and cash collection processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of management accountants, providing guidance and ensuring accurate coding and charges.
• Support the Head of Finance in improving current processes.
• Lead the budgeting process, including the development of budgeting templates and the handover of the budget process with the outgoing Finance Manager.
• Provide guidance for management accounts, ensuring all processes are correctly priced and coded.
• Collaborate with the Finance Director to provide support as needed.
• Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of financial reports and analysis.
  
  

What You Will Bring to the Role:

• Qualified accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent).
• Extensive experience in budgeting and management accounts.
• Experience in the charity sector is preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the maturity to manage a team and provide guidance.
• The ability to start immediately and commit to a 3-6 month interim role.
