Investment Associate - Investment Office - Georgetown University
The Georgetown University’s Investment Office manages financial assets for the endowment and the university pension plan under the fiduciary oversight of a subcommittee of the Board of Directors. Our long-term objective is to produce the highest investment return possible while maintaining an appropriate level of risk and liquidity in order to provide perpetual, sustainable support for the university.
Job Overview
The Investment Associate - an enthusiastic, inquisitive, and professionally-minded individual - provides support in our fast-paced office environment. Duties include but are not limited to investment research, due diligence on prospective fund managers and direct public equity investments, and analysis of financial market conditions and opportunities.
Work Interactions
The Investment Associate - an integral member of the Georgetown Investment Office’s small and collaborative team - reports directly to the Managing Director of Investments.
The Endowment maintains a target asset allocation of 65% equities, 20% credit, 10% real assets, and 5% cash/short-duration instruments. These categories encompass both public and private strategies.)
The Investments Associate assists with the sourcing, screening, due diligence, and oversight of investment managers and single name securities for the Endowment’s public markets portfolio, across equities, bonds, real estate and infrastructure opportunities. Although the primary focus will be on public markets, they are encouraged to source ideas and work collaboratively across all asset classes in the portfolio.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic credentials - preference for completion of, or progress toward, an MBA or the CFA designation
- At 4 years of experience in investment management, investment banking, corporate finance, corporate strategy, consulting, and/or investigative research
- Direct investment experience in single name securities in a professional capacity
- Demonstrated proficiency in writing, research, and quantitative analysis
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple constituencies
- Willingness to work On-Campus (per Work Mode Designation, see above) five days per week at our office and to travel domestically and abroad
