Franklin College is located on a modern and attractive campus in North East Lincolnshire, close to Grimsby town centre. With approximately 1,700 full time 16-18 students and 500 part-time adult learners, Franklin offers the widest range of courses in the area, including A Levels, BTECs, CTECs, T-levels and GCSEs, and every year, about 90% of Franklin College students who apply for higher education gain a place at their first-choice university, with a significant number gaining places at prestigious universities across the country in addition to highly sought after apprenticeships, jobs and further training.The College is well-resourced to meet the needs of all students, with subjects being taught in areas specifically designed to meet the requirements of post-16 study. There has been over £6 million invested in buildings and facilities in recent years including ‘The Bridge’, a university style learning space which opened in 2023, providing a state-of-the-art experience for students. The College is embarking on another £3.5 million new build project this year which will see the addition of eight new teaching rooms and a university style lecture theatre to accommodate significant projected growth.As we continue to move forward, Franklin College are seeking to appoint an outstanding, committed and enthusiastic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join and work closely with the Principal/CEO and other cross college senior leaders. The CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial future, drive key initiatives, and optimise our financial performance.
As the CFO, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all financial, legal and statutory duties along with the responsibility for the Colleges Strategic Planning and the Business/Development Planning Process.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have the responsibility for delivering outstanding strategic leadership of the College service areas which include, Finance, Human Resources, Catering, Transport, Reception and Student Bursary. Therefore, as a Finance specialist, it is also an essential part of the role to be generalist in other areas of responsibility and can lead and direct team managers to deliver comprehensive and professional services to the College.
The successful candidate will be required to not only have the ability to think strategically but also have the willingness to get involved in many of the day-to-day operational matters, which is essential.
Franklin is a member of the Sixth Form Colleges Association and regionally the College works with Norvic (Northern Sixth Form Colleges Federation) for the purposes of development and mutual support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Bain Capital is looking for a Director of Global Investment Professional Learning who will drive and continue to evolve the learning strategy for our pre-Partner investment professional cohorts across our businesses. The role reports to Bain Capital’s Global Head of Investment Professional Learning, and is based at our headquarters in Boston (with the option to work remotely two days per week), joining our high-performing Investment Professional Learning team.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Work with global investment leadership and heads of HR across the firm to:
  • Regularly discuss and evolve our investment professional learning strategy, to ensure consistency with business strategy and our broad talent strategy
  • Accordingly, regularly assess and prioritize our learning blueprint and activities
• In partnership with investment professionals, subject matter experts, and regional talent teams:
  • Build and deliver world-class training programs for cohorts of investment professionals
  • Identify creative synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences to enhance skillsets and create opportunities for connection across our global businesses
  • Develop investment professional curriculum and author modules
  • Regularly collect feedback and draw insights to share with leadership to drive continuous improvement
• Manage all aspects of budgeting, planning, and executing on global training programs, in coordination with Investment Professional Learning team members and regional talent teams
• Stay up-to-date on our firm’s strategy and priorities, and the dynamics and trends across our industry
• Provide support in managing and mentoring junior team members
• Assist with other strategic initiatives related to investment professional learning across our firm’s platform

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
• Minimum 8 years of total work experience with at least 3 years in a senior Learning & Development or Talent Development role working with investment professionals or client-facing professionals in an alternative assets, financial services, or top-tier consulting firm, in a capacity that requires an understanding of the business
• Experience leading strategic talent or L&D-related initiatives, as well as designing learning paths, developing curriculum, and running world-class training programs in partnership with the business
• Able to anticipate, identify and deliver strong results in a fast-paced global environment
• A demonstrated affinity to learn the business, strategy, and concepts in order to translate them into curriculum
• Strong, professional communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to work comfortably and credibly with our senior leaders
• Strong project management skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, a passion to learn
• Tenacious, resourceful, and can balance leading and being hands-on as required, in a team-based environment
• Able to flex working schedule to accommodate global demand and a willingness to travel to global programs (approx. 1 week every 3 months, including international travel)

About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Director, Finance Systems and Analytics is responsible for the implementation, technical support and improvement of various Finance technology applications – including Workday Finance and Jaggaer - acting as technical lead for project workstreams related to data conversion, integration and reporting.

They lead efforts internally and externally to ensure that leading-edge technologies are employed efficiently and effectively, working with all levels of the business including Finance functional business partners, central ITS and vendors.

The Associate Director serves as the technology business partner to implement systems, innovative solutions, and best practice processes to promote overall organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and cost optimization.  In addition, they will work directly with department directors and managers, and other Northeastern stakeholders to understand current challenges, document business requirements, provide expertise and plan and deliver cost effective solutions that meet the University’s needs.

In addition, the Associate Director will manage the Finance Systems Support & Analytics team on day-to-day activities including system configuration, technical issue resolution, understanding business processes and requirements, system capabilities/limitations, testing new functionality and understanding our complex data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge and skills required for this position are normally acquired through a bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Finance or a related field plus at least 7 years experience in finance systems management or a related role
• Proven work experience and results in leading complex projects, particularly technology implementations
• Strong knowledge of financial processes, accounting principles, and ERP systems (Workday Finance preferred)
• Track record of managing large teams and complex projects while at the same time having the ability to listen to, coach, develop, and influence individual team members
• Knowledge and familiarity with IT governance, data systems, and information architecture
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills that enable the incumbent to explain issues, opportunities, recommendations and solutions in both technical and non-technical terms

Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with higher education technology trends and ensure Finance is keeping pace
• Actively participate in communities within higher education and beyond to establish learning networks

Governance

• Member of the Workday Governance team (along with Human Resources and ITS) who evaluate and prioritize change requests
• Ensure Finance System support team follows governance policies and protocols

Customer Service and Support

• Primarily responsible for ensuring consistent levels of Finance system support
• Partner with Finance business unit leads, NU ITS and vendors to ensure Finance customers receive excellent service and support across all tiers
• Engage with customers, establish feedback mechanisms and leverage data to ensure appropriate levels of service and support are being provided
