This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner (nurse or allied health professional) who has an interest in working with those with Complex Emotional and Relational Needs (CERN) and who wishes to further develop skills in this area. The successful applicant will cover maternity leave (12 months), either as a secondment opportunity or fixed term contract, and will work with a small team responsible for delivering the CERN pathways across the community services in Trafford.

To work as part of a small team, working directly with those with CERN needs using a relational approach. The role will primarily involve responsibility for supporting the delivery of the Structured Clinical Management (SCM) pathway in Trafford, as well as supporting the Community Mental Health teams through consultation in complex cases. It will also involve working into the new Living Well service and contributing to other aspects of the CERN pathways as these develop.

Heart failure both new onset and chronic which requires close management to avoid admission. The role also takes part in the WTWA senior on call rota supporting cardiology and the emergency

echocardiography.
This post is ideal for someone wishing to enhance their sub-specialty knowledge and experience in either Heart Failure and will include exposure to the catheter labs, outpatient clinics and supporting the inpatient wards.
The successful candidate will receive advanced training in heart failure . Experience working in a cardiology department in the UK will be important for this post due to the busy and challenging nature of the work of a registrar in our tertiary cardiac centre.

The main focus of this role is to improve and be trained in Heart Failure or under the supervision of the consultant team.
There is an expectation of the successful postholder to fully contribute to Heart Failure service at Wythenshawe Hospital.
Furthermore, the postholder will support the consultant team with specific outpatient clinics, which will be selected to complement the postholder's
training needs in conjunction with supporting the service with its secondary and tertiary centre work.
There is also a commitment to the Cardiology middle-grade on-call rota, which supports the hospital's acute inpatient work and the wider Greater
Manchester footprint as a key point of contact for the tertiary centre.

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Locally Employed Doctor to join the MFT Thoracic Surgery service, based at Wythenshawe Hospital. The post have been created following expansion of lung cancer screening services across Greater Manchester, and at a time of considerable growth for the Thoracic Surgery service, which remains one of the largest lung surgery centres within the UK and the only service in Greater Manchester.

It is an exciting time to join our team. Our Thoracic Surgery team will be performing more than 900 anatomical lung resections per year and around 50% of those resections are performed using minimally invasive techniques, including Robotically Assisted Thoracic Surgery (RATS).

The team consists of 9 cardiothoracic registrars, who are a combination of Senior Clinical Fellows (SCFs), Associate Specialists and Higher Surgical Trainees (HSTs). The number of HSTs in the department at any time ranges from two to five. All colleagues working on this rota will be allocated to a named consultant surgeon and will undertake their core activities with that named consultant. This will include pairing with the named consultant surgeon of the week (as named Registrar of the Week RoW). Consultant & registrar pairings will be rotated on a 6 or 12-monthly basis. SCFs are afforded the same training opportunities as HSTs. The successful candidate can expect to attend operating theatres and outpatient clinics on a regular basis, with the opportunity to gain experience across the spectrum of thoracic surgery.

The post holder will have an allocated caseload of patients under the supervision of a registered professional.

Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and within Trust guidelines & protocols, you’ll assist in delivering the excellent patient care you would expect for yourself and your loved ones.

Your duties will involve supporting patients with personal care needs and will involve traveling to patients’ homes from various locations. This Crisis Response Team and Hospital at Home Senior Discharge Coordinator, Health and Social Care Practitioner role will work in the community based with Crisis Response Team (part of Manchester Community Response), assisting registered professionals (Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Pharmacists and Social Workers).

As part of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the Crisis Response Team to deliver urgent health and social care to people in crisis and at risk of hospitalisation. They will also support the Hospital at Home service to reduce length of stay in hospital and provide care for patients within their own home.

The post holder is expected to troubleshoot patient care or technical issues in all pre-treatment areas. Work as a subject matter expert on all aspects of pre-treatment radiotherapy. The candidate will supervise, instruct and take part in pre-treatment imaging for radiotherapy planning and virtual simulation planning of patients for radiotherapy and make decisions pertaining to patient care and treatment. Reporting to the superintendents on a daily basis with expectation to organise a busy workload with the highest level of patient care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To ensure that the highly complex pre-treatment radiotherapy imaging equipment is safe and accurate to operate, both for staff and patient, undertaking the appropriate machine checks and reporting any variances, faults and malfunctions.
• Using highly complex equipment such as CT simulators and MR scanners, including the administration of contrast, to provide accurate radiotherapy planning scans, in order to plan radiotherapy treatment for a diverse range of patients
• Providing accurate written instructions of treatment set-up to ensure accurate treatment reproducibility ensuring that radiotherapy may be delivered accurately and reproducibly and in accordance with the quality system.
• Using highly complex equipment and software for virtual simulation of radiotherapy treatments in order to produce accurate treatment plans in accordance with the quality system.
• Electronic dispatch of pre-treatment images to relevant sections of the radiotherapy and treatment planning departments
• Cannulation of patients for IV contrast and competence for relevant PGD for contrast media and emergency drugs for the management of side effects in accordance with trust policies
• Monitor and assess patient’s condition and liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care, referral, information and support is offered to all patients. Administer appropriate drug prescriptions as prescribed by clinicians.
• Produce highly complex immobilisation devices for use in radiotherapy treatment to ensure accurate treatment and reproducibility so that radiotherapy may be delivered accurately and reproducibly and in accordance with the quality system
• Ensure the team follows appropriate systems and working methods to achieve the safe, timely achievement of workload targets.
• Ensure the team keeps accurate records and comply with necessary policies and procedures
• Analyse systematically and evaluate all data and information relevant to patients’ diagnosis, ensuring the patient and their relatives are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
• Communicate confidential sensitive information, and provide emotional support, to patients and their carers/relatives including children and the terminally ill.
• Provide information to patients and their carers with regard to the radiotherapy pathway and expected side effects.
• To communicate accurate and timely information with all other disciplines involved along the patients pathway.
• With the team in the assigned area, patients and the wider multidisciplinary team manage areas of conflict and escalate as necessary.
• To provide, receive and use sensitive information maintaining patient confidentiality at all times in line with information governance legislation
• Apply safe and effective moving and handling skills in order to protect patients and staff, abide by Health and safety legislation in the work place.
• Minimise risk of cross infection through contamination by bodily fluids/matter. In accordance of the infection control policy
• To implement the procedures and work instructions described for the department in ISO9001/2015 and report any variances.
• Maintenance of treatment skills and knowledge and understanding of advanced radiotherapy techniques and technology including VMAT, IMRT, FFF, Stereotactic and protons
• Contribute to development of the quality system by reviewing and writing work instructions and operating procedures.
• Ensure all work and actions comply with local rules and current UK Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 and IRMER Regulations 2018.
• Be aware of and participate in the audit and research within the department and the implementation of new processes and techniques.
• Undertake training and competency to dispense medication under Patient Group Direction (PGD)
• Participate in the extended shift system, bank holidays, weekend working and on-call.

• Participate in an annual Personal Development Review.
• Attend all essential training and clinical updates as required.

The Aseptic Services Unit at the Christie NHS Trust is a world leader in the production of phase one Clinical Trial materials and has an extensive portfolio of products for specialist preparation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· To aseptically prepare high quality Cytotoxic/MABS/EAMS etc. in accordance with departmental procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice and COSHH regulations ensuring that all work complies with all regulatory frameworks and standards.

· Undertake daily cleaning and disinfection of the aseptic clean rooms including Isolators, according to Standard Operating Procedures.

· To ensure ingredients and disposables are assembled, disinfected and transferred through the Aseptic Services Unit appropriately.

· To carry out in-process checks of aseptically prepared products upon completion of appropriate training.

· Participate in the safe preparation and delivery of Intrathecal chemotherapy in accordance with Trust policy upon completion of departmental training.

· To accurately prepare worksheets and labels for aseptic products using the units computer system using JAC and iQEMO program if required.

· To assist with the preparation of documentation within the aseptic unit.

· To assist with the recording of data, both manually and on the computer

· Answer the telephone promptly and politely and refer queries to the appropriate person.

· To assist the Specialist/Senior/Chief Technician to ensure the validation of all staff, equipment and processes are completed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

· To assist the Specialist/Senior/Chief Technician to ensure maintenance and monitoring of environmental monitoring standards of the Aseptic Unit is carried out in compliance with QCNW and Standard Operating Procedures.

· To be responsible for the maintenance of all stock in the Aseptic Unit including evaluating stock levels within the Aseptic Unit assisting the ordering Technician to ensure adequate stock is maintained at all times.

· Ensure all Environmental monitoring plates are received and stored in the correct manner to ensure they are protected from contamination.

· Prepare environmental samples and documentation for dispatch to QCNW.

· To be responsible for receiving and documenting Environmental Reports from QCNW and referring any variances to senior staff in a timely manner.

Education and Development:

· Undertake any mandatory training, updates and courses in line with local and Trust policies.

· To complete NVQ2 in pharmacy services if not currently in possession of this qualification

· To complete all Aseptic Services Unit competency-based training packages.

· To participate in and co-operate with, individual personal assessment, continuing professional development and continuing education programmes to develop personal competencies and knowledge base.

· When appropriate to demonstrate activities to, work experience students, pre-registration pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, student pharmacy technicians and staff undergoing induction.

Communication and Leadership
• Communicate with other team members regarding activities within the Aseptic Services Unit.
• Answer the telephone promptly and politely and refer queries to the appropriate person.
• To ensure effective communication channels are maintained by all staff and any disagreements are dealt with promptly and in line with the Trusts respect policy.
• Participate in staff discussions during internal meetings and as part of a group when required.

Finance:
• To effectively manage a designated stockholding to ensure that stock wastage is minimised.
• To assist the Senior/Specialist Technicians in managing the Aseptic Services stock takes. To comply with legal and Trust requirements relating to the purchase, supply, use safe custody and destruction of medicines within Pharmacy and other areas of the Trust.

Effort and Environment Factors:
• • Demonstrable skills for manipulation of pharmaceutical products.
• There is a requirement/combination of Manual Handling such as sitting, standing, and walking.
• The post holder must have the ability to lift and handle pharmaceutical items.
• The post holder must have the ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
• Manual Handling i.e. In the stores area, frequent lifting and handling of heavy packages and boxes.
• Regular use of a PC for data inputting and training

Policy:
• • To be responsible for the adherence and upholding of all Trust and departmental policies and procedures.
• To comply with the updated national guidance and local Trust policy for the Safe Administration of Intrathecal Chemotherapy

Other Duties:
• The provision of a high-quality service delivered in a professional and courteous manner is a requirement of all staff employed by the Pharmaceutical Services
• It is presently a requirement of the post to participate in a Saturday / Sunday and Bank Holiday rota and be able to work between the hours of 7am and 5pm with the potential for this to change as the service requires.
