We are currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Ambulance Care Assistants to transport our patients, who are frail or need specialist assistance, to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centre's and other similar facilities.

We can offer you a 3 week paid training course. You would need to be available to attend a training on a full time basis over a period of 15 workings days. Clinically trained to standards that allow you to be competent as a ‘First Person on Scene’, patient transport driver training, and a full uniform. Every day is different as an ACA and you could really make a difference to our patients.

During the training course it is your responsibility to attend in full, on each day. Accommodation and travel expenses will not be provided so you will need to consider the costs and travel expense of attending these venues. As an example Welwyn Garden City and Chelmsford. You MUST be able to commit to undertaking the training course as outlined above.

The Patient Transport Services arranges the transportation of non-urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences.



1. Maintain an appropriate level of care for patients, relevant to their condition. This includes recognition of when additional skills or support may be needed.
2. Record, process and share information / paperwork regarding patient condition, care undertaken and observations to all appropriate healthcare partners.

6. Maintain the vehicle in a sanitary condition in line with health & safety, clinical waste management, occupational health, ISO9001:2008 and clinical directorate guidelines. Ensure that all health and safety and policy is adhered to within the working environment, whether within the Trust’s premises or at treatment centres.
7. Maintain clear and regular communication with the Ambulance Liaison Office and other Healthcare professionals / colleagues, in line with agreed protocols, e.g. ISO and Caldicott. Ensure that the needs of the patient are met and operational efficiency and effectiveness is maintained.
8. Assist patients in their homes, both prior to and after transportation, ensuring they have their basic needs catered for and their homes are safe. This includes measuring, highlighting and reporting areas of risk in line with Trust risk assessment procedures.
9. Physically manoeuvre and / or lift patients, including the use of Trust supplied carrying aids, in circumstances where patients are unable to manage alone, after undertaking a manual handling risk assessment e.g. up and down stairs and within restricted spaces.
10. Ensure that patients are taken to and collected from the agreed treatment area within the hospital or centre in a timely basis.
11. Provide any clinical assistance to the authorised level of competence in all circumstances that require it.
12. Participate in equipment trials, working parties and highlighting areas of potential personal and organisation service development.
13. Required to take personal responsibility for continued professional development through the personal development review process, the knowledge and skills framework and Trust training sessions.

You will be responsible for assisting the professional team in providing care for patients in an inpatient environment. The Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS) brings together key health, care, community, and voluntary sector organisations from across our area. Our aim is to work together in partnership to join up health and care services, improving our population’s health and wellbeing and reducing health inequalities. One such example of this collaborative work is the launch of our HCA Academy, an ICS initiative between Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) and Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) to support the incoming Health Care assistant (HCA) workforce. The academy models a ‘one workforce’ cross system approach to the onboarding, induction, education and experience of Healthcare Assistants.

We are seeking a motivated and dynamicBand 3 Integrated Healthcare Assistantwith an interest in general physical health for this exciting opportunity to work within the Rehabilitation and Frailty Team (RAFT). RAFT is a forward-thinking and innovative service that is community based. The Service runs 365 days a year 7am-10pm across various shift patterns. The team works in a fully integrated way, with Consultants, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Assistants, Integrated Health Care Assistants, Associate Practitioners and Nursing/Therapy Apprentices all working side by side to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to the care of people accessing our service.

You will be expected to carry out clinical visits to patients in their own homes and residential homes under the direction of Nurses and Therapists.

You will be expected to cover shifts over 7am-10pm including weekends and bank holidays.

Another opportunity has arisen to recruit an additional assistant psychologist to the specialist Community Forensic Team

The SCFT ( Specialist Community Forensic Team) work with service users with moderate to severe mental health difficulties and a forensic history from the Essex area who are being cared for within medium and low secure mental health units, primarily in Essex (Brockfield House, Edward House and St Andrew’s) as well as Essex residents cared for in units in other counties (e.g. Kneesworth House).

The majority of service users on the teams’ caseload will have been detained under Section 37 of the Mental Health Act; often with restrictions under Section 41. The team also accept service users detained under section 47/49 and section 3 of the Mental Health Act.

We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Psychologist to join Forensic Psychological Services ( community team )on a Fixed Term Contract of oneyearat Heath Close, Billericay on a full-time basis. This post would be suitable for someone who wishes to gain further experience in the fields of clinical, counselling or forensic psychology. The post holder will be given regular supervision with a qualified and experienced principal psychologist, and will be supported to develop their understanding of the applications of psychology with a range of mental health needs.

SCFT works as a multidisciplinary team which comprises of a consultant forensic psychiatrist, nursing staff, a principal psychologist, occupational therapists and assistants, recovery team workers, trainees, health care assistants and social workers. The psychology team aims to address patients’ mental health needs and forensic risk through a combination of individual and group evidenced-based interventions.

Post holders will have the opportunity to observe psychological assessments and interventions being carried out by the psychologist and psychologists in training, to jointly facilitate treatment groups, and to independently carry out pieces of clinical work, such as psychometric and neuropsychological assessments, risk assessments and appropriate clinical interventions under supervision. Training will be given in relevant areas in order to support the post holder both in this role and in their on-going career progression.

Candidates need to be an enthusiastic and committed graduate who wish to develop their clinical skills working in a progressive team providing a high quality psychology service for men and women with severe and enduring mental health problems.

The Opportunity

Purchase to Pay (P2P) and Income aims to provide a comprehensive financial transactional and support service, maximising new and innovative technology to provide excellent customer service using a multi skilled workforce.

The Finance Assistant supports the Purchase to Pay (P2P) and Income teams to deliver the business plan for financial transactions. With a working knowledge of Financial processes and systems across P2P and Income, ensuring data or income is input accurately, timely and within policy and legislation standards.

Experienced in working as a team member across a flexible and multi skilled workforce, delivering excellent customer service to a variety of Functions by maintaining financial transactions and data within local systems. Recognising and supporting changes in technology to streamline the customer experience.

Accountabilities

• Contributes to the delivery of the business plan for financial transactions, in support of the wider organisational vision.
• Responsible for processing and managing financial transactions, following defined business processes, inputting and interpreting data to ensure quality, consistency, accuracy, timeliness and high performance.
• Responsible for delivering all activities to meet defined deadlines, proactively reporting any risks or issues for early resolution.
• Provides support and guidance to internal and external customers in a professional manner, in line with Financial processes, ensuring that policy and legislation are met.
• Carries out basic reporting for P2P and Income and external customers, which contributes to the management of organisational performance, maximises income and ensures compliance with Financial Regulations and ECC Policies.
• Work flexibly and collaboratively across P2P and Income to deliver finance support.
• Recommend process improvements and redesign to achieve best practice and organisational efficiency.
• Contributes to maintaining currency on legislation changes and translating these into local policy and procedure, to identify and review potential changes in technology.

The Experience You Will Bring

Essential:

• Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE) must include English and Mathematics, or equivalent by experience.
• Some knowledge of P2P/Income systems and demonstrable accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase to pay and e-invoicing experience would be desirable.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Level of good competency using Microsoft office packages including, Outlook, Word and Excel.

Desirable:

• Aptitude and willingness to work flexibly in multi skilled Operational Teams.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret varied information for supporting continuous improvements in service delivery.
• Ability to work effectively within a team whilst remaining focussed and disciplined when working from home.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and partners.
