The Role:

A full-time role reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day processes for accounts receivable, ensuring the smooth operation of the sales ledger while supporting the junior members of the team.

Responsibilities will include:

Credit control, chasing overdue payments and aged debtor reporting

Daily supervision of the sales ledger processes, including:

Bank uploads and reconciliations

What will you be doing?

System & invoicing Process:

• Accurate loading of all relevant payments onto the Commitments Records/ spreadsheets and associated systems to ensure that accurate payments are made.
• To ensure that Other Local Authority’s contributions are recorded correctly, and invoices generated in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all financial data is recorded in a consistent and accurate way across all systems and saved in the appropriate SharePoint directories.
• Provide financial statistics to relevant managers as requested in order to comply with CCC regulations.
• Ensure duties are undertaken with due regard to the Council’s financial regulations, national charging guidance, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure all invoices, bills and other charging correspondence sent to other Authorities (and/or their representatives) are accurate, meet quality standards and adhere to agreed processes.
• To ensure all Suppliers/Carers/Young People are set up accurately so that payments are generated and made correctly.
• Ability and willingness to adapt in the way that we work, when it comes to change and implementation of new systems, processes and service demands.

Customer Relations:

• Dealing with and resolving all customer queries including the ceasing of provision.
• To be proactive in dealing with customer queries either around payments made or charges applied.
• Record, investigate and sensitively resolve customer enquiries, referring complex matters to line management for advice or re-allocation as appropriate.
• Ensuring that matters are dealt with in a customer focussed way

Financial Support:

• Assist with monitoring and/or management of budgets in accordance with County Council financial processes, systems and instructions as necessary.
• Ensure that County Council financial processes and systems are complied with.
• Undertake financial support duties as required to support the efficient delivery of services.
• Support workforce agility within the finance team and maintain financial operations. Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the sharing of knowledge within the team in order to enhance learning and build / maintain team resilience.

Debt Management Processes:

• Highlight and investigate issues in relation to debt, providing a resolution where possible.

About you

A working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and experience of ContrOCC, ERP or other financial software packages would be desirable. However, full in-house training and professional development will be available.

Experience in invoicing, payment-runs and financial knowledge preferred. AAT qualifications (or equivalent) would be an advantage.

We are looking for you to hold at least 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English at grade C and above and to have worked in finance or an office environment.

The construction and standards team now seek an MEP Manager to support the successful delivery of all MEP investment across all live construction projects, sustainability investments and ongoing Data Centre operations. What you'll be doing

• Attend all internal pre-construction investment steering groups and working group meetings, to assist internal stakeholders with all MEP matters in a clear, concise and jargon free manner.

• Manage all construction technical matters and queries and as a junction between our MEP consultant engineers, framework contractors, and construction oversight partners.

• Be familiar with the groups MEP & construction standards to aid the suppliers in ensuring these are met. Constantly monitor evolving trends and regulations change to ensure standards are current and submit all changes to the lead engineer.

• Dealing with incident management within the groups key data centres and critical buildings. This shall include managing the escalation process to key stakeholders and contributing towards resolutions with the groups supply chain partners. These incidents are rare and may occur out-with normal working hours, therefore a willingness to support the group through these periods is required.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement with the Group's suppliers.

• Chair meeting and liaise with stakeholders and key suppliers. I.e MEP consultant partners.

• Attend alternating project construction meetings to support our framework contractors when required and in parallel with our MEP consultants.

• Manage construction aspects to ensure the site environment, health & safety, wellbeing, quality, and commissioning of the project is reported in a timely manner.

• Identify and mitigate embedded MEP services that impose a risk to project timeline and quality. The ability to identify trends, key issues or critical path risk is fundamental to the role.

• Manage own resources and track progress for reporting to line manager/ lead engineer.

What you'll need

• Significant Industry Experience (required).

• Ideally located in the East Midlands area.

• Relevant bachelor's degree in a property, engineering or construction related field. (required).

• MEP related construction experience essential with a focus on project management.

• Knowledge of building safety legislation, building standards, construction contracts and health and safety requirements essential.

• Experience of working in diverse teams with multiple stakeholders.

• Experience of working with common construction software preferred i.e AutoCAD, BIM, Document Management Portals etc.
