We are filling a vacancy in our team of SLT Assistants and offering a full- time speech and language therapy assistant post (Band 3). The post holder will join our existing team of 10 SLT assistants to supportthe work of the SLT department. The role will involve working in local nurseries to screen children's communication skills, deliver language groups and train nursery staff. It also involves running Early Years groups with an SLT or SLTA in our local health centres and clinics; helping to deliver online parent workshops; preparing therapy resources for our Early Years team and entering data onto our patient record system. There will be an opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of communication development in children.

The Speech and Language Therapy department provides focused and clinically driven services across the community (Lambeth & Southwark). Our aim is to ensure clear delivery and development of services for the specific populations we serve, enabling smoother transitions, enhanced skill development across the team and greater job satisfaction.

We provide separate line management and clinical supervision to ensure strong clinical performance and development opportunities.

Main responsibilities:
• Supporting groups in nurseries across the 2 boroughs.
• Screening children's communication skills in nurseries.
• Supporting clinical groups for children under 5.
• Supporting administration for the Early Years SLT team and other SLT teams for example: data entry, preparing resources, ordering resources, and various other admin tasks

This is an exciting opportunity for a HCPC registered clinical psychologist with a strong interest and experience in working with children with physical health and/or complex neurodevelopmental conditions to join a new Community Children’s Psychology Service at London Evelina where we serve the communities of Lambeth and Southwark. As this is a new service, this role would especially appeal to candidates who would like to further develop leadership skills in service development and co-production of services.

The post holder will join a small team of clinical psychologists within Children’s Community Services. The psychology team sits within Evelina Neurosciences, which has a strong psychology presence and provides excellent opportunities for professional development.This role is available from 1stOctober 2024.

The post holder will provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for neurodivergent children and young people, and those with physical health conditions, and their families. This role will also involve the assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions as part of the paediatric multi-disciplinary team. As this is a new service, this role provides a unique opportunity to help shape a service to meet the needs of children and their families requiring paediatric community services, living in Lambeth and Southwark.

The role will include responsibility for the supervision and line management of 2 band 7 clinical psychologist and oversee the supervision and management of an assistant psychologist. The post will be supervised by the Lead Clinical Psychologist for Children’s Community Psychology.
