The senior controller together with the Finance & Controlling team in the region – is responsible for the financial well-being of the organization incl. the early identification and analysis of opportunities of improvement across APAC that led into the achievement of the regional goals. He/she is in charge of championing efficiency through the automatization of processes, as well as being a business partner for the legal entities supporting them in the development of initiatives to further improve working capital and profitability. Forecasting, management reporting, sales controlling, and cost controlling are also the main focus of the position.
· Act as business partner for the legal entities to actively support commercial strategies across the region, icl. Business cases development, pricing and performance analysis.
· Provide recommendations to enhance the financial performance and identify additional business opportunities.
· Develop and maintain good relationships with the respective finance and accounting teams in the APAC countries.
· Oversee and review financial statements prepared by the in-country finance teams ensuring accurate and appropriate recording of revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities.
· Prepare consolidated regional financial statements within the company’s financial reporting deadlines.
· Ensure that the organization’s financial records and record-keeping methods are in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
· Assist in the development of forecasts, budgets and long-term business plans.
· Closely align with and advise finance and accounting personnel who are responsible for financial reporting and budgeting in the APAC countries.
· Regularly review the organization’s financial reports and identify opportunities for cost reduction and working capital improvements.
· Advise in areas relating to costing and inventory management.
· Ensure that internal controls are adhered to and in identify opportunities to strengthen the internal control and process environment.
Support the regional finance and controlling community in the transformation of processes via digitalization and automation incl. RPA, AI.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
Related Experience
7-10 years working experience in accounting, finance management, auditing or similar. Medical and/or safety technology experience of advantage.
Skills, Special Competencies, or Certifications
· Strong business acumen and analytical skills, structured and accurate work approach, ability to deal with and analyse complex data.
· Good understanding of IFRS and experience in group consolidation accounting. Preference will be given to candidates with CPA, ACCA, CFA or comparable accreditations.
· Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people with and without finance/accounting backgrounds are essential.
· Can work independently with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.
· A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data as well as the ability to stick to given reporting timelines.
· Strong listening, communication and convincing skills to understand, explain and drive complex topics and issues without having hierarchical authority.
· High integrity and ethics are a must as well as knowledge of SAP and/or Navision /Microsoft Business Central ERP systems.
