JOB PURPOSE:

You will provide competent quality management advice to promote compliance to ISO 9001: 2015 in the review, audit, certification, induction and management of procedures and processes in electrical infrastructure construction projects.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Provide Quality Management advice about ISO 9001: 2015 to other advisors, managers, employees, contractors and clients, both in the tendering and construction phases. Aim to maintain UK Power Networks Services' quality management system to ensure it can design, build, finance, operate and maintain primary electrical infrastructure for its clients.

2. Contribute to the review of existing and the development of new procedures/processes. Procedures include those from central UK Power Networks group and those which are UK Power Networks Services' project/contract specific. There will also be involvement in the communication, implementation and monitoring within the directorate;

3. Monitor compliance with ISO 9001: 2015, procedures, legal and moral obligations, and national, international and client standards. Plan project audits against agreed level 2, 3 and 4 schedules. Will undertake quality management system audits, produce audit reports and ensure findings are resolved promptly.

4. Assist and offer guidance to Project Managers in reviewing quality related project documents and requirements. Develop appropriate quality management system inductions, training and communication materials for the project team and subcontractors. Gather lessons learnt and maintains the project cost of poor quality process. Provide Project Managers with quality related updates for inclusion in monthly reports. Support any quality management system incident investigations.

5. Provide a monitoring function to ensure that suppliers, subcontractors and the services they provide exceed our quality management system expectations. This may include conducting external audits and undertaking random performance inspections of field teams to identify issues requiring improvement and highlighting good performance.

6. Monitor site certification of materials and equipment, including tool calibration, to ensure compliance with client and project requirements. To maintain associated project records to compile final data book documentation.

7. Facilitate third-party audits of UK Power Networks Services by external certification bodies. Champion quality management system processes in the business to ensure certification requirements are maintained.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential

• HNC (minimum requirement) qualification in a discipline such as Quality Management, Construction, Project Management or Technical/Engineering or equivalent.
• As a minimum be a Practitioner member of the Chartered Quality Institute with an aspiration to gain Chartered status, which we will support;
• Have quality management system experience gained in the construction industry (manufacturing based or other experience would not be suitable);
• Be a trained QMS Auditor/Internal QMS Auditor with experience in auditing to ISO 9001: 2015;
• Have experience of root cause analysis
• Attain several client access passes and licenses that may be required to work within UK industries such as airports, defence, nuclear, rail and underground rail;
• Hold a valid UK driving licence

Desirable

• Flexible in your approach to work and be prioritise as directed by the Quality and Assurance Manager and Project Manager on assigned projects or contracts;
• Audit to ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001: 2018 requirements would be desirable;
• Knowledge of ISO 55001: 2014, ISO 44001: 2017, ISO 19650-1: 2018, ISO 19650-2: 2018, ISO 19650-3: 2020 and ISO 19650-5: 2020 would be advantageous;

Main Responsibilities

You as the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for managing the shift maintenance team, taking ownership of performance and quality, achieving and maximising the efficiency of the process and delivering a preventative maintenance scheme for fixed and mobile plant whilst also proactive on the reactive maintenance of day-to-day plant operations. • Monitor and maximise productivity of processes, making cost effective use of resources, products and equipment. Identify ways to improve processes and quality
• Drive achievement of optimum Overall Operations Effectiveness (OOE) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
• Communicate performance targets and KPI’s to team through meetings, briefings and site objectives
• Supervision of maintenance activities along with strong knowledge of CMMS systems
• Complete plant (fixed and mobile) maintenance checks and inspections as required
• Undertake and/or review maintenance inspections and report defects (AAA)
• Monitor and report key successes and deficiencies across site (performance, product, equipment, people) to management, undertaking root cause analysis and calling out problems as required
• Support the control production-associated costs (including temp labour and overtime), reviewing these regularly with management
• Promoting the maintenance management system, ensuring the application of maintenance procedures, methods and best practices
• Maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensure all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors
• Lead, manage and develop a team, optimising engagement, and overall team performance
• Lead in resolving complex technical issues or failures as they arise, along with coordinated planned shutdowns
• Carry out supervisory duties in line with regulations, manufacturers guidance, company policies and procedures

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant in the role of Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will be instrumental in the future development and support of the engineering culture to achieve the benefits available through reactive, proactive and our continuous improvement strategy. You will have experience as an Engineering (Supervisor or Manager) / Maintenance (Supervisor or Manager) within a similar heavy manufacturing industry and line management experience will be essential.

Main Responsibilities

As our Mechanical Project and SME Engineer, your key responsibilities will be executing a maintenance methodology to ensure that mechanical equipment operates at the highest operational efficiency, whilst supporting the vision to implement World Class Maintenance in the Linford operation. You will work closely with the production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and ensure seamless operation of systems and project engineering work.

Your responsibilities as our Mechanical Project and SME Engineer will include (not exhaustive):

• Lead and own the 1 year rolling, and 3 - 5 year improvement plan for the assets
• Implement Written Schemes of Examination, assess equipment condition and suitability for further service and report the outcome to business area to comply with legal requirements and business goals
• Recommend repairs and advise the Engineering and Projects Manager on the restoration of “fit for purpose” condition, accept repairs and assign inspection intervals to achieve legal compliance and business goals​
• Own and lead the implementation of a Risk Based Assessment programme for mechanical systems equipment, ensuring compliance ​
• Provide mechanical systems technical input in support of projects and plant modifications and projects to deliver legal compliance and business integrity requirements
• Ensure management of change practices are followed for all modifications, upgrades or project work to mechanical related systems on site
• Conduct routine maintenance and updates to systems along with collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve system performance
• Have a proven track record of successful people management, management of engineering operations, delivering CAPEX projects with an understanding of CDM regulations
• Promoting the maintenance management system, ensuring the application of maintenance procedures, methods and best practices
• Assisting the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts
• Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of engineers, fitters and apprentices by providing training and support on Mechanical systems and functionalities
• Involvement with maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensure all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors
• Continuous review of plant availability and performance, Identifying gaps, root causes and subsequent improvement activity with proposing economic ways to extend the life of plant equipment or increase the mean time between failures
• Monitor and coordinate condition predictors for all critical equipment, whether this is by NDT or Condition Monitoring systems
• Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance job plans (from supplier’s recommendation if existing), create and update the corresponding inspection job plans, in coordination with the Engineering Planner
• Contribute to the analysis of failures and problems, implementing corrective actions, whilst leading RCA "Root Cause Analysis" interrogation for plant failures when required

• Provide pressure systems technical input in support of projects and plant modifications to deliver legal compliance and business integrity requirements
• Ensure management of change practices are followed for all modifications, upgrades or project work to pressure related systems on site

Job Title: Mobile commercial gas engineer

Location: Maidstone

Salary: £46k

I am currently working on behalf of a large FM and maintenance company, seeking an experienced and qualified commercial gas engineer. This will be a semi mobile based role covering 2 commercial properties, in the Maidstone. Ideally the candidate has experience working within commercial environments carrying out all areas of commercial gas maintenance and minor remedial tasks .

As a Gas Engineer the post holder is responsible for planning and carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to Commercial/Industrial boilers and completing inspection and gas safety check certificates .

Main duties will include:

• Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules, frequencies and industry best practices.
• Identify any defects found and provide parts list and estimated timescales to complete the defects.
