They are looking for Mechanical Craftspersons / Senior Craftspersons to join their team on a full time permanent bases. The company is based just outside Cardiff but caters across Wales, South West and other locations across the UK.

The successful candidates must have a knowledge of the commercial systems and how the components within systems relate to each other. Within your role you will be responsible to plan, organise and undertake the installation of various systems to a high standard whilst using efficient resources to so. Allocated tasks will be given to you by the supervisor or Project Manager that you will be able to effectively complete, safely and with consideration to environmental impact using industry recognised practices.

Candidates must be able to carry out pipework fabrication, installation and jointing techniques for industrial and commercial system such as soldering, press fit, threading and fusion welding. The installation of bracket systems for distribution systems and the positioning and assembly of plant such as boilers, air source heat pumps, storage vessels etc.

Undertake allocated work tasks in the testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and decommissioning of industrial and commercial cold water systems, hot water systems, heating systems and chilled water systems. You must be able to demonstrate competence in the health and safety, communication, quality control and environmental requirements.

Based on 37.5 hours per week, 8.00AM to 4.30PM Monday to Thursday and 8.00AM to 3.30PM Friday (excludes travel time) and 0.5 hour for lunch. Some occasional weekend work or overtime may feature. Hours worked over 37,5 hours paid at x1.5. Working away will see an up lift of £1 per hour. Not all projects are in South Wales so seeking individuals that would be willing to work away through the week. If required to work away, then lodging will be provided.

About the role


Technical liaison to designated customers for specific product requests and offerings as dictated by customer requests, commercial team and business unit inputs.
Responsible for reviewing customer requests and assessing feasibility and best method, site, etc. for growth for designated customers.
Technical lead for all customer epitaxial development queries and programs.
Responsible for MOCVD III-V epitaxy recipe development and production support (as needed) on products including HBT, pHEMT & BiHEMTs.
Advisor to the Technology Group regarding generic process improvements required to maintain competitiveness in the wireless market.
Drives qualification activities, data correlation studies.
Proposes and drives continuous improvement activities.
Manage large & disparate data sets and distill information into concise presentations and recommendations


Review and interpret characterization & device fabrication data for development and (as needed) production support
Review specifications for accuracy and manufacturing feasibility


Monitor and improve statistical process control charts
Correlate internal quality data with customer data
Participate in system troubleshooting when requested as part of escalation process
Conduct failure analyses and prepare corrective action recommendations
Serve as a technical expert and team member of the Technology. As such, this individual will be key in supporting the Business Unit and Commercial portion of the organization for the definition of product roadmaps for future offerings.



About you
Desired Job Qualifications:

BS/MS in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.


Semiconductor device epitaxial growth experience
Proficient in statistical process control techniques & data analysis software such as JMP
Applications support
Semiconductor process
Hands-on reactor experience
Possesses excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and communication skills

Hays are working with a well-known not-for profit company on the outskirts of Cardiff to support with the recruitment for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with specific skills in the Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Azure. The role is paying circa £55,000pa depending on experience and is mostly remote based, you'd likely go on site a couple of times a month. The organisation offers lots of career progress and personal development and has a fantastic culture.
Your new role what you'll need to succeed
In the role you will support a mix of BAU and project-based infrastructure work in the team of 5. You'll provide high level technical expertise across Azure Active Directory, Entra ID, Identity Access Management and PowerShell scripting. You'll support more junior members of the team, work closely with stakeholders in the wider IT directorate and support 3rd party vendors. To be considered for this role you will need to be an experienced 3rd line infrastructure engineer who in recent years has specialised in the Microsoft Stack, with specific expertise around Microsoft Azure including the technologies mentioned above. You will need to have good stakeholder management skills and have varied experience supporting project based IT modernisation.
