Your new role

As a Civil Enforcement Officer you will ensure effective enforcement of parking regulations within on street areas of the Borough and car parks.
You will be the public face of the Council.

Your new role

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Drainage Engineer to join our Drainage team in the East region. Within this role, you will be undertaking the identification and evaluation of asset data and needs to develop early solutions, in line with agreed methodologies and prioritisation criteria and the designing of highway renewals and maintenance schemes.

Please note that may be required to work unsociable hours as part of this role.

You will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have no more than 3 points to be considered for this position and during employment.

What you'll be leading on

• Develop early solutions for drainage improvements and/or renewals, including the compiling of relevant documents, evidence adoptions for value management, considering new techniques, materials, buildability, and costs.
• Ensure that asset data and condition information is captured and maintained in the relevant database(s), in line with agreed standards and timescales.
• Identify, prepare briefs and support delivery of survey works that support the improvement and/or renewal of drainage assets.
• Develop technical briefs provided to external design services contractor for improvement and renewals work.
• Design of highway renewals and maintenance schemes for drainage schemes.
• Review and work with our Major Projects division and third-party developers to ensure maintenance is considered during design and construction of scheme.

To be successful

• Degree / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering (or similar) with post graduate experience or significant vocational experience in a drainage or highways setting is essential.
• Knowledge and experience of promoting drainage renewals (or similar) schemes / projects with the ability to work within budgets.
• Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highway network with good knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
• Experience of working closely with other internal/external teams, Contractors, Local Authorities Customers and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of highway drainage maintenance techniques and methods of mitigation.
• Awareness of the Drainage Data Management System and how data is populated is desirable.

Our client is a leading researcher in the aerospace industry supplying into a variety of different sectors. The company operate via innovative methods, they are looking for a Mechanical Technician.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Carrying out PPM, inspections and monitoring of equipment when in use - carry out meter readings
• Working on a Transonic Wind Tunnel and associated equipment - variety of rotating machinery, large valves, pipework, water pumps and air compressors.
• Installation of new mechanical equipment on site.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environmental procedure.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Time-served Mechanical Apprenticeship.
• Mentor apprentices and less experienced employees when required.
