Job Summary:
Responsible for systems engineering efforts including EO/MWIR/LWIR Imaging Sensor and gimbal, land, handheld Systems characterization, analysis, and test. and support of technical projects which promote the advancement of the Surveillance product lines. Develops and applies system engineering test methodologies and procedures to conduct EO/IR sensor subsystem imaging characterization, design verification testing (DVT), First Article test (FAT), and Factory Acceptance Testing (AT) of imaging sensors; Participates in defining subsystems and systems requirements, modeling, design analysis and trades, test, and product verification. Conducts analysis, investigations and testing of considerable complexity both in product development and production issues. Perform systems work on multidiscipline projects of considerable complexity and contribute technically to the project’s success with experience in EO/MWIR/LWIR imaging sensors and optical systems engineering. This is a critical position in the Systems Engineering group.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and contribute to all aspects of systems engineering efforts for the development of EO/IR imaging sensor products in the areas of concept definition, requirements development, radiometric systems design and analysis, performance modeling and analysis, prototype testing, troubleshooting and performance verification.
- Develop flow down specifications for systems and subsystems.
- Perform modeling analyses such as target acquisition range performance and optical performance calculations.
- Perform Lab testing to characterize EO/MWIR/LWIR imaging sensors & camera performance against product specification and requirements.
- Perform Lab test to characterize gimbal and handheld EO/MWIR/LWIR imaging surveillance systems performance against product specification and requirements.
- Supports qualification testing for new and existing EO/MWIR/LWIR imaging products and optical sub-systems.
- Knowledgeable in a wide range of test execution methods including Image uniformity, 3D noise, MTF, NETD, FOV, Boresight, latency, and other test metrics, for both Infrared and Visible imaging systems. Provide interdisciplinary design and product support to ensure that the design implementation will meet specifications.
- Create test plans and write procedures to support system design verification testing (DVT), analyze data and generate test reports of results.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) process and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Support Business Development and Sales in the areas of new customer requirements analysis, proposal writing, sensor performance modeling and fielding technical inquiries.
- Provide systems engineering support to manufacturing, as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in physics, engineering, or optical science. Advance degree preferred.
- Intermediate EO/IR Position[E3]: 3-5 years’ experience in EO/MWIR/LWIR imaging system product design, development, and test
- Senior EO/IR intermediate Position [E4]: 5-8 years’ experience in EO/MWIR/LWIR imaging system product design, development, test
- Experience with laser devices (pointers, illuminators, rangefinders, designators), a plus.
- Proven systems leadership experience through several projects.
- Good experience and knowledge of radiometric analysis
- Preferred experience in using the following design and analysis tools: NVTHERMIP/NV-IPM, IRWindows 4, NVLabCap, MODTRAN, ZEMAX, MATLAB).
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with internal team, management, vendors, and customers.
- Knowledge of VIS, MWIR and LWIR detectors (Silicon, InSb/HgCdTe/SLS, InGaAS, microbolometer etc.,) and imaging sensor
