WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time, at our London Office
About this opportunity…
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Payments Platform for a DevOps Engineer. As a DevOps Engineer in our Instant Payments lab, you will work in a highly collaborative way to drive efforts to build, support and improve our tools for Continuous Integration, automated testing, and release management within our public and private Cloud hosting platform. We expect that you will demonstrate and apply outstanding engineering practices to increase agility, improve quality and help reduce downtime in all our solutions.
A DevOps is not a "thing you do" but a cultural change more than anything, you are also expected to drive this change and ensure that we embed agile and DevOps principles in everything we do. It is also very important to understand and apply industry standard methodologies, foster collaborative working to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist and ensure implementation of solutions where appropriate.

What you'll need…

Cloud/DevOps experience:

Public cloud experience (utilising Terraform)

Experience in DevOps practices in the Cloud

Experience of managing applications running in a Cloud environment providing operational support, troubleshooting, tuning, upgrade & optimisation.
Containerisation:
Programming/Scripting in:

Bash, Groovy
Source code repositories:
Software Development Life Cycle:

Full project life cycle experience (from inception through to production) and including: Continuous integration, Automated deployments, Build tools and technologies (i.e., maven)
In addition, any of the below, would also be beneficial:

Knowledge of fundamentals cloud architecture and security concepts

Experience with a configuration and deployment management tools is an advantage, e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef

Event based architecture knowledge of Kafka, Global K tables, KStreams
