Salary: £22,011 - £22,542 pro rata (actual salary £18,751 - £19,204 per annum)
Location: Stafford College site

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and suitably qualified individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to take on this role within the Learning Resource Centre.
Reporting directly to the Group Learning Resources Co-ordinator you will be responsible for providing advice and assistance to enable users to gain maximum benefit from the Library, and the effective administration, control and development of the service.
Duties are varied and include supporting student learning and assisting students and staff in the use of the appropriate learning materials.
In addition to a good standard of general education, you should have a relevant Customer Service or Library qualification along with previous experience of working in a similar role. You will have a confident manner with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, excellent MS Office Skills (Word, Excel). Hours of work are usually office hours Monday to Friday, but occasional attendance at open evenings will be required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• To support student learning and assist students and staff in the use of appropriate learning materials (computers, books, journals, eResources etc.).
• To carry out general Library duties (issuing and returning resources, information retrieval, processing new stock, to create library and awareness day displays to promote library stock, shelf tidying etc
• To supervise the library, to maintain discipline and a high standard of student conduct to ensure that users gain maximum benefit from the facilities.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Has a good standard of education qualified to level 3 or equivalent and be willing to undertake any relevant professional development.
• Experience of working in a similar role
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the confidence to deal with all college users in a polite but assertive manner.
