Our Apprenticeship department is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Functional Skills Teacher to join our team. As an experienced teacher, you will bring your passion and subject expertise to the classroom, working with both young people and adults to help achieve the best outcomes for apprentices.
You will have high expectations for your students and be committed to supporting their progress and achievement. Additionally, you will develop positive relationships with them, our employers, and with colleagues in the English and Maths departments across the College, sharing best practices.

About you
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified candidate to join our Apprenticeships department as a Teacher in Functional Skills. You will need a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification, with experience in teaching functional skills within vocational or apprenticeship settings being ideal.
In this role, you will demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills, adapting your teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of our learners. Excellent communication skills are essential for engaging effectively with both students and colleagues. We are looking for someone committed to diversity and inclusion, who can inspire and motivate learners to achieve their goals.
You will collaborate closely with Course Leaders to contribute to curriculum development and ensure a high-quality learning experience. A commitment to ongoing professional development and a good understanding of data protection regulations are key attributes for success in this position.

Required
• GCSE Maths and English (Level 2 or equivalent)
• Level 3 qualification in the relevant subject area.
• 3 years relevant experience
Preferred
• Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification
• Previous Teaching Experience
• An understanding of apprenticeships is advantageous
