KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Chief of Schools, the Vice President, Teaching, Learning and Curriculum will lead transformative efforts in curriculum implementation, instructional strategy, teacher professional development, and instructional coaching across DSST Public Schools. This role is integral in defining the vision and strategy for curriculum and instructional practices while fostering collaboration and cross-functional partnership to advance academic outcomes for all DSST students.  

 WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Lead a team of directors responsible for curriculum, teacher development and instructional enabling systems (20%)

• Develop and articulate a strategic vision for instructional excellence, curriculum, teacher development, and instructional coaching across the network, driving strategic initiatives that align with our mission.

• Lead and manage a team of directors who are responsible for curriculum, teacher development and instructional enabling systems, ensuring cohesive leadership, strategic alignment, and the achievement of desired student outcomes.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, trust, and professional growth among teachers, instructional coaches, and instructional leaders across the network.

• Oversee the budget for curriculum, teacher development programs and instructional enabling systems, ensuring strategic allocation of resources to maximize impact.

Lead the development and implementation of instructional strategy (15%)

• Oversee the implementation of high quality instructional practices that facilitate equitable access to grade level curricula.

• Oversee the design and implementation/strengthening of observation and feedback, data-driven instruction and student work analysis systems to develop teachers’ ability to execute rigorous, engaging and culturally responsive lessons and respond effectively to evidence of student understanding.

• Oversee goal setting and progress monitoring for instructional priorities.

• Utilize data-driven decision-making to identify instructional needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and inform continuous improvement efforts.

Leads process for selection, adoption and successful implementation of Tier 1 curriculum in each content area at the middle and high school level (10%)

• Evaluate current state of curriculum quality and implementation across the network.

• Establish a multi-year plan for curriculum adoption and implementation across content areas. 

• Create processes to effectively engage stakeholders and do external research in order to select high quality curricula. 

• Lead change management, including robust training and development to support the successful implementation of selected curricula.

Oversee teacher professional development (15%)

• Support the Director of Teacher Development to refine the vision for training and development for new and returning staff aligned to key change efforts and in service of “institutionalizing” our change work.

• Oversee the new teacher development strategic initiative by developing and implementing a comprehensive, multi-year program for new career teachers to foster a profound change in classroom practices, teacher efficacy, and retention rates.

• Champion the development and delivery of high-quality professional development programs for teachers, including summer training and ongoing professional development throughout the school year.

Oversee the instructional coaching programs and instructional coach development (20%)

• Oversee the design and implementation of a comprehensive instructional coaching program, aimed at supporting teachers in improving their instructional practices, fostering a culture of reflective practice, and improving student learning outcomes.

• Develop strategic plans for the instructional coaching program, setting clear objectives, outcomes, and benchmarks for success.

• Monitor and evaluate the impact of the instructional coaching program on teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes, making data-driven decisions to enhance the program continuously.

Collaborate with Schools & Academics Leadership Team and other Home Office teammates to achieve goals (15%)

• Collaborate with the other Vice Presidents, Managing Directors, and instructional leaders across the network to ensure effective implementation of instructional strategies, teacher development, and instructional coaching.

• Actively participate in the Schools & Academics Leadership Team, contributing to the work of implementing our strategic initiatives and the overall mission of enhancing educational quality across the network.

• Advocate for and represent the network’s educational vision and desired student outcomes within and outside of network settings, building strong relationships with stakeholders and educational partners.

Additional Duties (5%)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required

• 10+ years experience leading and managing in urban schools and/or communities

• At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a school, Charter Management Organization or other educational organization

• At least 5 years of experience leading and managing 6-12 curriculum 

• Experience at a high-performing charter school highly preferred but not required

What You Will Do:
We are currently searching for a Training Program Manager. This role will independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services. This is a full-time opportunity located in Bethesda, MD.

• Identify relevant career fairs at academic institutions, professional conferences, and other venues for staff to attend, serving as primary point of contact between the Institute and representative at school or other venue, and coordinating delivery of promotional materials and traveling exhibit to these events.

• Write, edit, and prepare all orientation materials for distribution; ensure that each incoming trainee has met all requirements to begin clinical and educational activities within the fellowship program.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The professional registered nurse Home Therapies RN CAP 2 may be an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) for new employees who meet the RN CAP 2 criteria or attained through advancement from RN CAP 1. • Administers medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithm(s), and documents appropriate medical justification and effectiveness.

• Performs assessment and identifies barriers of the Home Dialysis candidate’s home environment and partner/ family readiness and ability to perform dialysis treatments in the home. 
• Trains home dialysis patients and / or Home Partners on the safe, effective operation and maintenance of all Home Dialysis equipment and treatment supplies through a formal standardized Home Dialysis Training Program.
• Participates in education and quality improvement projects at the facility and area level as directed by Supervisor.
• May serve as a Preceptor to new employees.
• Required to complete CAP requirements to either maintain or advance.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

SUPERVISION:

• Successful completion of all FKC education and training requirements for new employees.
• Must have a minimum of 3 months experience home dialysis therapies as a RN.

EDUCATION and LICENSURE:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing research clinical conduct and data collection and entry support for oncology focused clinical research studies.  Duties include handling key operational functions for oncology research studies and abstracting relevant research related data from medical records and source documents, populating, and coordinating use of research data bases and data sources, quality review, training, report production, and submission of collected research data. 

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Under the direction of the RN Specialist, Clinical Research Coordinator or principal investigator, coordinates research protocols including arranging necessary appointments and procedures, working collaboratively with other departments and institutions, and maintaining contact with study participants.

2. Maintains patient calendars, screening, and enrollment information utilizing departmental databases/tools to ensure compliance with protocol requirements.

3. Completes initial intake on participants for research studies. Determines participant eligibility based on study specific criteria. Verifies that patients have completed appropriate registration materials and maintains related records and information. Obtains and reviews relevant medical history with participants.

4. Accountable for completing entire informed consent process, which includes proper consent discussion & documentation according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and departmental SOPs while assuring compliance with all relevant IRB and applicable regulatory agency requirements. 

5. Collects required data by utilizing Cerner and other electronic databases, records obtained from external physician’s offices, patient interviews, and other sources. Accurately enters data into the clinical research forms through computerized databases.

6. Maintains and updates department specific databases. Develops and implements efficient data collection tools and methods. Develops and manipulates spreadsheets. Performs internal data quality reviews for accuracy and quality of data collection. Prepares, updates, and organizes tracking logs and patient research files. Identifies and communicates important protocol and data management issues or problems to leadership.

7. Submits data to appropriate agencies and maintains established quarterly reporting rates. Uses electronic data capture. Complies with federal reporting requirements. Answers requests for requested data, extracts data from assigned facility data base and generates reports as needed. Submits forms and other reports in a timely manner and maintains all source documentation. Performs data outcomes analysis, creates data reports, and works on special data management projects as assigned.

8. Facilitates monitoring and audit related activities as directed and assists in training of new staff members as directed.

9. May serve as a backup, collecting and processing phlebotomy specimens for analysis using appropriate or specified equipment. Ensures proper labeling and obtains pertinent clinical and protocol information on request forms. Performs vital signs and EKG as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess relevant knowledge as typically obtained by completion of an associates degree in healthcare, research, or related field and two years previous research or health care experience or equivalent knowledge/experience in a healthcare or research setting.

Knowledge of regulatory affairs and current issues concerning the conduct of clinical research or health care operations. Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to interpret laboratory reports and understand disease processes and testing with an understanding of disease staging and status. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to provide effective customer service. Must be proficient with common office software including web based and ability to conduct computer-based literature searches.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree with previous pertinent experience working in an oncology focused clinical research or healthcare setting.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Provide complaint trending analyses to support improvement of products manufactured in the facility and prepare trend reports for site Complaint Review Board.
• Maintain knowledge of product quality controls and failure modes.
• Evaluate complaint samples and provide training for complaint sample evaluations.
• Initiate and perform investigations, (Complaint investigations and Non-Conformance investigations) and Corrective Actions / Preventive Actions (CAPA) while providing guidance and approval, maintain & follow up on Quality Corrective Action Plans using Root Cause analysis tools and data evaluation.
• Provide Progress Reports and trending to show product quality levels and respond to regulatory requests.

Additional responsibilities:

• Support continuous improvement projects, quality issue resolution, Non-conformances/CAPAs, and Quality System activities for the complaint handling process.
• Use various statistical and non-statistical problem-solving tools as part of analysis of data, issues, or improvement opportunities.
• Actively participate and chip into routine platform-based meetings and change control activities.
• Provide Quality Assurance support and guidance on medical device products, process, and document changes to assure compliance with site Quality Systems procedures.
• Consistent track record to handle time efficiently and meet target quotas under pressure.
