Whilst on probation all contracts will be a minimum of 24 gym floor hours, this is to ensure you earn a guaranteed minimum salary. Your earning will increase as you establish your PT clients and improve your earning potential.

PT sessions have a sliding scale, the more you deliver the more your take home earning potential is.

Our students are very fortunate in the extra-curricular activities offered to them at Aylesbury Vale Academy. Our Eco-club meets weekly and over the past year has been involved in community projects to reduce litter, has run school-wide competitions and has attended a national farming day in Hertfordshire. In addition, fieldwork is embedded in our curriculum, making use of the school environment, local area as well as travelling further afield. Our department’s first international trip to Iceland ran in spring 2024; we plan to run this trip again in 2026.

About the role
We are looking to appoint a creative, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the SEND Department. The successful candidate would be expected to have the knowledge and skills to support students with a variety of specific needs, including the delivery of targeted intervention outside of the classroom. You will be suitably qualified with experience of working with children in one of the four areas of SEND, and reporting to the Assistant Principal/SENDCo.

About you
Experience of working in an educational provision and ideally relevant qualifications in Learning Support.

A calm, understanding and friendly personality.

The ability to manage behaviour and help students focus on any given task, encouraging students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.

The willingness to work flexibly and constructively as part of a team, providing day to day classroom support to the children and assisting with student behaviour as and if required in a supportive manner.

The ability to work with teachers and the SENDCo to ensure progress and development.
