Research Manager
The General Medical Council are currently looking for a Research Manager to work in our Data, Research and Insight Hub, the Research Manager will be responsible for developing, managing and ensuring the delivery of key individual research projects as part of the GMC's research programme. Delivered by a small team of research managers, the research programme provides the GMC with crucial intelligence and insight to inform our policy development and decision-making. We do not fund or undertake medical research and you don't need previous medical experience.
Summary of the role
- Although the majority of the research programme is commissioned, a significant minority of projects are undertaken in-house and research managers will be expected to deliver both types of project.
- We are not looking for advanced expertise in particular methods, but rather for sound general knowledge and experience of a range of research methods.
- Research managers will work closely with policy colleagues across the GMC to understand their research needs.
- The role will also require close working with a range of other GMC staff, including colleagues involved in procurement, information governance, data management and communications as well as external research contractors.
- You will be required to attend our Manchester office one day per week, (our designated office day is currently Tuesdays) and travel to other GMC sites maybe required from time to time
